TheMongolz's plans to travel to America this week to compete at the MLG Columbus qualifier have been halted after being refused visas.

The Mongolian team were due to fight for a spot at the upcoming major after winning the Asia Minor Championship, only to be refused entry on the grounds of not being able to provide enough evidence that the players would return home after the tournament.

TheMongolz's visa application has twice been refused, and with the US embassy in Mongolia not taking visa appointments on Wednesday, the team's hopes of attending the event have gone up in smoke.

Machinegun's team will not attend the MLG Columbus major qualifier

Group C of the MLG Columbus Qualifier, which will kick off on Friday, is now down to just three teams - CLG, Vexed Gaming and SK Gaming.

TheMongolz, who caused a sensation by beating Renegades in the grand final of the Asia Minor, are due to travel to Beijing later this week to apply for a Polish visa to be able to attend IEM Katowice as Mongolia does not have a Polish embassy.

Refusing visas to Russian people is internal problem and we all know that. (I am not a person who is judging by the race, nationality, color. Yet I am not American but Live in USA.) Anyway, we are living in a dumb world yee. This kind of stuff just proves how far from professional are e-sports in a lot of countries nowadays. Valve must help the players + should act just like FIFA in football when it comes to their sponsored tournaments, atleast. Obviously if e-sports were regulated as a professional activity in Mongolia that means the players are getting paid and stuff, means they have a stable situation, means they can prove with official documents that they are going to an event. For the US, the Mongolian players are nothing but a bunch of friends going there without a proper regulation on the matter (e-sports) in their own country. I know US denied them, never said Mongolia did so.

sorry for my bad english, Sandays was right (Thank you). They were playing for a chance to get into the Major tournament, one of the biggest events in the year and then they cant even get VISA. IMO, almost every team which participated in Asia Minor wouldnt get visa application and probably they would miss the main qualification as well. In this case there werent even a reason to host Asia Minor, thats what I've tryed to say :)

I do agree MLG sucks at making tournaments. The only reason they're sponsored by Valve now is because they payed them a bunch of money and they wanted an American major. The US doesn't recognize CS:GO as a legitimate job or reason for a visa, so they rejected 5 young, unmarried, unemployed men from a country whose GDP per capita is 1/5th that of the US, i.e. the perfect demographic for economic migrants. Buying a round trip plane ticket doesn't mean you have to come back. exactly, it confuses me too. I wonder what type of visa they applied for. Did they perhaps not book their return flights in advance as it's not sure how far they will go in the tournament? If thats the case, then I wonder which genius came up with that plan. Shame. I was so happy and excited to see mongolz doing so good and couldn't wait to see their matches. Please next time hire a proper visa company that does that shit for you. And apply it in time. I don't know if that's the case. Please...it's just a speculation. It would be stupid if it was though. They did some stuff wrong that's obvious with the application. Perhaps they need info on how to do it properly or ways where the percentage of getting accepted is higher. Perhaps applying for a tourist visa in duo's - separate from all others. There is no harm in that if you are in the eSports business. Either face difficulties like these (and miss tournaments you are qualified for, get demotivated coz of it) or you're just a tourist for a 5 day stay where you happen to compete in a computer game tournament that week and by chance win some money

Always the same with most unknown Asian/CIS teams. Saying that getting a visa is so easy is wrong though. A friend from Ukraine wanted to see Berlin so I invited her. She had proof of her work (she earns $2000 as a Ukrainian which is a shit ton of money, she has family back home, proof that we've met up before, an invitational letter that I cover costs just in case, proof of my income and she had to buy plane tickets BEFORE even applying for the visa. She still got denied the first time. Then she bribed the women there and got the visa.

If these boys are going to Beijing I'd be more than happy to help them apply and secure them a visa to Poland [Eastern Europe is much easier than Western Europe or America].
