compLexity to try out witmer

compLexity have revealed that they will bring in Shawn 'witmer' Taylor of Denial as a tryout in lieu of Danny 'fRoD' Montaner with the latter player being moved to a backup role.

The announcement by North American organisation compLexity in late December 2015 of signing Danny "⁠fRoD⁠" Montaner and building a roster around the legendary 1.6 player (named North American player of the decade by HLTV.org) and Daniel "⁠roca⁠" Gustaferri was met with a dose of skepticism from the community as fRoD had not made as much of a mark in CS:GO as in previous iterations of Counter-Strike.

With Complexity currently holding a 2-10 record in the ESL Pro League and with fRoD himself generally showcasing a poor series of performances throughout his games with the team, calls began to grow for a roster change from various corners.

fRoD struggled to make an impact for coL in their Pro League games

Jason Lake, compLexity's CEO, has taken to Twitter to announce that fRoD will be moved to a backup role in order to continue improving while the team will bring in Shawn "⁠witmer⁠" Taylor in a tryout role as the team's AWPer.

witmer was part of the Denial lineup that won ESEA Premier Season 20 (and is thus rejoining his old teammate Josh "⁠shinobi⁠" Abastado on compLexity) before that lineup fell apart.

Denial then recently re-entered CS:GO with a new team centered around witmer (and including the likes of Warren "⁠hades⁠" Rettich) and will now have to see one of their centerpieces snatched merely four days into their new lineup.

compLexity's lineup is therefore currently:

Rory "⁠dephh⁠" Jackson
Josh "⁠shinobi⁠" Abastado

Meanwhile, the Denial organisation have wasted no time finding a replacement in their own lineup by announcing the addition of Belal "⁠FGB⁠" Ahmad, who was last seen playing for SKDC. The Denial lineup looks as follows:

I honestly don't understand how fRoD got on coL to begin with? The man literally tried to advertise himself to any team in Invite/Premier and no one would pick him. I hoped fRoD would start low with a main team, then premier and maybe in the end of the year he can play in an Pro team after at least spending enough time playing the game.

fRoD basically built the compLexity brand off the back of his awp. It would have been a great story line if it had worked out though. The prodigal son returns... lots of buzz, lots of traffic for compLexity. Unfortunately gaming is a young mans game and fRoD is starting from the bottom again with all these 17 year old kids with really sharp reflexes and nutty aim. He may have the experience but CS:GO is more skill reliant than other versions of CS. I can understand his passion for gaming but at 29 years old, the odds are definitely against him.

Always surprised these big teams don't just have second teams to bring through players, especially in NA where the quality is quite small at the top comparative to scene size. Having a player like frod, regardless if he ever got back to playing main lineup, would be big for any up and coming player as he has bags of experience even if he is coated in rust ;)

Respect to fRoD but he should probably start his CSGO career by starting out low and humble like everyone else with a small team, slowly making his way to upper tiers instead of using his past fame to get in a team of a level that he cannot keep up with.
