OpTic Gaming have decided against keeping Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu as coach following his trial period.

Luis "⁠peacemaker⁠" Tadeu joined OpTic on a trial basis at the start of February as the team looked to bounce back from the departure of ingame leader Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz to Liquid.

OpTic cut a frustrating figure at the two events they attended with the Brazilian on board, finishing 9th-12th at DreamHack Las Vegas and 11th-12th at the IEM World Championship.

peacemaker's OpTic trial was unsuccessful

In the latest episode of OpTic's "Vision" documentary series, Oscar "⁠mixwell⁠" Cañellas stated that peacemaker's approach did not match the team's style, adding that the Brazilian was "too emotional sometimes".

In a TwitLonger post, peacemaker admitted that the loss of stanislaw and the rumours surrounding mixwell and William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba took their toll on the team and lamented that he was not given enough time to carry out his vision for the squad.

"After losing stanislaw, the team lost leadership and guidance, and internal problems started to happen with the defeats coming in," Tadeu wrote.

"We tried to handle all this the best we could, but with all the rumours about mixwell/RUSH leaving to Liquid I felt the team completely lost motivation to continue working, so we barely practiced after Katowice.

"I have a very particular way of coaching my teams, and I may not be the best when it comes to dealing with a lot of problems, but I have my own system, which worked very well with my previous team but unfortunately did not work with OpTic.

"I feel I did not have enough time to show the guys what I am capable of, but in their eyes my coaching style does not match what they are looking for. This is completely acceptable and it was the main reason behind the trial period.

"I am heading back to Brazil to spend some time with my family. After that, I will be looking to continue my coaching career somewhere else, and hopefully that will happen in the near future."

OpTic have yet to comment on the situation of Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin, who joined the team as a stand-in at the same time as peacemaker. It has been rumoured that OpTic will not be retaining his services, but he played for the team in Thursday's 0-2 defeat against CLG in the North American SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 qualifier.

Stewie2K doesn't need to leave C9. C9 has a strong brand, interesting for business, he will consider to leaving just in case of another rich team, such as Liquid (IDK if Liquid is richer than c9 tough). Sorry, I want to be wrong, but Optic is dead and they will loss ome more player (RUSH or Mixwell)

Yes, nitr0 was suppose to stay and it was supposed to be -JDM -pimp for +mixwell +Rush. It was also said that if this deal happens and pimp is removed he will go back to EU. nitr0 has been shit lately but he was a star NA player for a long time and he might be hard to move on from because it seems he is a package deal with elige. Plus team liquid really loves that elige/nitr0 combo (especially when it works). I assume team liquid wants to give nitr0 a chance with a decent roster and if he still can't step it up afterwards, then they might consider replacing him (which shouldn't be that hard). There's a good chance he might just be slumping or not motivated because the roster he was playing with had no real hope of being good. I think the main objective for liquid was to secure a decent IGL (stanislaw) and hybrid awper (mixwell) first because riflers in NA are dime-a-dozen compared to those roles (they can even import one from EU like pimp) and as long as those roles are secure, they can probably buy out another star/rising player to replace nitr0 in the case that nitr0 has really fallen.

OpTic.OCEAN. He's a savant and has dank-dangles that can be seen on the hockey rink. In seriousness, OpTic have always had their struggles on CT sides and with Stanislaw gone it's a perfect time to experiment with roles (move Hiko to the more defensive spots, e.g., drop on cbble), have RUSH become more of a focal point, and integrate *many* more gimmicks into their playbook. This team still has enough talent, with most being very versatile*, that it should almost be a science experiment.

Rickeh is a decent hybrid awper/rifler which makes JDM's role unneeded. They already have a good awper who CAN rifle in rickeh, why restrict him to rifles to bring in a shitty .91 lan rating overrated awper JDM who is going to make you play 4 vs 5 on rounds he doesn't have awp? Swap out JDM for any decent rifler in NA (even freakazoid) and the team will be better, JDM has no place in any half decent team tbh, a bad lan rating awper who can't rifle is just a relic of the past, they have no place in a good team aspiring to be tier 1. And he also has no place in a team like CLG who is growing players with potential, JDM is a 27 year old awper who has already reached his potential with no more room for growth and still can't manage to be half average with an rifle after all these yrs and prefers to use the mp7 just to die without doing anything. We know what he is at this point and we see that he's a liability on a higher tier team that has other stars and can't throw rounds and their own buys just to try to make sure JDM has an awp every round. Rather just keep koosta who shows flashes of potential and has been the bright spot of the CLG roster even in all its terribleness, and he's also grown and shown to be decent at rifle and growing confident again with the awp. JDM should just do the only thing he can do like in CLG and go to a team like splyce/echofox who just wants publicity and a few wins or upsets here and there because JDM is useless on any team unless they want to build around him and the only teams willing to build around a .91 lan rating awper who is shit unless the team revolves completely around him (like CLG) is a t3 team.

Liquid Definitely worth a shot, a few possible personality clashes but it seems to be the lineup that Stan wants so I'm sure it could work C9 -shroud +daps and you have a solid team for sure. I would really like to see Stew drop the role of IGL making daps a strong asset to the team, -shroud is kind of a given at this point honestly. CLG/Optic Hiko's, what some would call his ego would lead him to most likely not want to be on such a poor team, especially with Nothing and possibly Shroud if he was to be taken off C9. In my opinion Nothing + Shroud is a better get than just Hiko however I just don't think this team would work in general. Jdm + rickeh makes zero sense, pimp probably wouldn't stay in America especially without Hiko, nothing and shroud would probably hold out on joining a team like how Hiko and Ska stayed out of the scene for a good few months, and Ethan isn't good enough to be on a team like this just yet. The problems with it just don't add up to a do able situation imo. -pita +pimp could definitely be good for maikelele' team but we would have to see. Changes of this magnitude have never happened in North America and especially with new contracts, buyouts, the amount of money the players are getting by not even practicing and just streaming just makes it seem impossible at this point.

He made great stuff for TS and Liquid, but I guess the change on the coaching rules just fuck up the way he did stuff. Same with Starix and Threat, than were making good progress on their teams until Valve changed everything.

TS got better after he left, and liquid got worse and sacked him after s1mple left. Peacemaker was just at the right place at the right time to ride the wave of that powerhouse team liquid roster (still think that roster would have been a force to reckon with if s1mple stayed, especially with the rising of elige). At least he got a few jobs off it but when you get jobs based on reputation and you can't bring results and people realize you were overrated, it's hard to stay on a team for long.

Doubt it has anything to do with his personality. Coaches, and him in peticular, are having a hard time finding their role within teams atm. Maybe it's an issue that he will never fix, but there is no doubt about his potential. Hopefully he'll be able to surprise us like he did with liquid once more, because I definitely feel, that he was the main reason as to why liquid had the success they had
