Cloud9 win iBP Spring 2017

Cloud9 won iBUYPOWER Invitational Spring 2017 after defeating OpTic 2-0 in the grand final (16-8 on Cobblestone and 22-18 on Mirage).

The $16,000 online tournament kicked off with an eight-team single elimination bracket. OpTic, who used Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski as a stand-in, beat Misfits 2-0 in the quarter-finals while Cloud9 eased past Selfless with the same scoreline.

Although Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert & co. lost Nuke—the second map in the series—to Luminosity in the semi-finals, the North Americans won convincingly on Cobblestone and Overpass. OpTic, on the other hand, reached the grand final after beating Liquid 16-14 on two maps in the semi-finals.

Skadoodle was effective in the grand final

OpTic and Cloud9 kicked off the grand final on Cobblestone where the latter secured a 16-8 victory. Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham finished the game with a 30:11 score and a 1.99 rating.

Mirage went to overtime as both teams picked up six rounds on their T-sides. Once again Cloud9 came on top to win the map 22-18. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip & co. won the grand final 2-0 and took home $10,000.

Lmao I totally forgot the teams that were playing until I looked up. Obviously expected Optic to do better though, and not all of them are NA, so my argument still stands xd

Ok but this tournament literally means nothing. It was online, NA only, includes some of the worst teams in NA, many teams w/ stand-in's Cloud9 - shroud was using the aug OpTic - first weekend with a stand in who was also calling Liquid - using a stand in who played extremely poorly Luminosity - no stand in, no excuse just not that great compLexity - trialing a caller, trash team, bottom tier of NA NRG - ptr still making it onto invite teams reeeee Selfless - worst team in pro league by a country mile, dizzy can't even hang in premier, quickly begining to think Ryu has a brain the size of a peanut -Ryu Misfits - using a premier stand in who although understandably didn't contribute much at all
