FaZe to StarSeries final over HR

FaZe have made their second consecutive final after defeating HellRaisers 2-0 (Mirage 16-13, Train 16-14) in SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 semi-finals.

FaZe kicked off the first semi-final with a great 5-0 start, winning the pistol and first gunround comfortably on the Terrorist side. HellRaisers climbed back to 4-5 with everyone pulling their weight, defending each site with relative ease.

After the next round went the other way and FaZe picked up their sixth round, HR grabbed all of the remaining rounds with Bence "DeadFox" Böröcz getting opening kills before the teams switched sides.

Finn "karrigan" Andersen, who already played well up to that point, stepped up with a quick, all-headshot quad in B defense, which helped FaZe pick up another 5-0 lead early in the half for an overall 11-9 lead.

The mixture around Nikola "NiKo" Kovač continued to dominate on their CT side until it was 15-10, when DeadFox and Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasiow showcased their abilities with two clutches in a row - a triple with a 1v1 by the Hungarian and an ace with a 1v2 by the Ukrainian captain.

That allowed HellRaisers to get up to 13 rounds, but it wasn't enough to force overtime due to Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey getting a quick triple in middle, finishing off map one at 16-13.

FaZe make their second final in a row

Continuing their perfect streak in pistols, FaZe got another 5-0 lead early on Train as Counter-Terrorists.

HellRaisers got on the board with three out of the next four rounds thanks to individual displays from Vladyslav "bondik" Nechyporchuk and ANGE1, but karrigan's squad quickly got back on the horse, finishing the half with six rounds in a row and a 12-3 lead.

Martin "STYKO" Styk and company then grabbed their first pistol round in the series and lowered their deficit to five rounds, although an eco win by FaZe stopped their streak relatively early. Nevertheless, HellRaisers continued to retake in tough scenarios, including a 2v3 when Patrik "Zero" Žúdel got a triple.

A triple from karrigan after a play through a smoke gave FaZe match point, but it wasn't over just yet. STYKO's double and a defuse during a 2v2 helped HR start climbing back, fending off all attacks until it was 15-14. At that point, FaZe got their opening kills and broke through the defense for their second consecutive final after IEM Katowice.

PotM: Finn "karrigan" Andersen showcased his impact throughout the series, as FaZe had a 24-6 score in rounds where the Danish in-game leader got at least one kill. He had 30 kills on Mirage alone (where he also put up a big quad-kill in the second pistol), as well as a couple of important multi-kills on Train, such as his triple that got FaZe to match point.

Well you did make it sound like there was a better choise for the finals. Stop thinking that HR is good. The only reason that they won so many rounds is because faze mistakes, something that na'vi/astralis won't do. Faze may not win the final, but i expect to put a good fight.

They got 13 and 14 rounds off the current no. 4 ranked team in the world and were literally a few kills away from winning both maps. Blind FaZe fanboy. HR played great and it was a fucking close series which Faze just came out on top of.

+1 they all had a great tournament. ANGE1 is probably the best fragging IGL in CSGO right now, deadfox is a great, if slightly inconsistent awper, and the other 3 are turning into fairly solid and skilled riflers who can all pull their weight. They were great to watch, hope they can keep it up.

I really don't believe it's a honeymoon period because they stayed consistent and also have made many mistakes in groups although I am very angry that people takes groups in consideration for so much. Like Jesus Christ if you do mouz vs best team in world 20 times your guaranteed that mouz will upset at least 1 time lol.
