Jacob "Pimp" Winneche is free to join another team after being released from his contract with Liquid, the North American organisation has announced.

The 21-year-old had been moved to a backup position on Liquid's roster at the end of March after expressing his desire to be allowed to join a team that could match his expectations and vision.

At the time, Liquid mentioned that they were negotiating Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche's transfer with interested teams, but a deal was never completed. Recently, he played as a stand-in for Dignitas in ECS and then for undefined in the Farmskins Championship and in ESEA Premier.

Pimp is out of his Liquid contract

Following today's announcement, Pimp is able to join another team for free, with a decision on his future expected to be made shortly.

The former dignitas and SK player represented Liquid from July 2016 to March 2017, during which the team most notably placed third-fourth at ESL One New York 2016.

Valde, Pimp, Borup, Acillion/Hunden, Cadian. That team could, as I've stated, make it to top 20 quite easily. That doesn't mean they would be a team that would necessarily make it till majors or deep in any meaningful tier 1 event, but they could be around the level of Heroic.

TL probably regret the move more than Pimp does. One of the worst players I've seen in crunch time situations. It seems like he's always trying to outsmart himself, and ends up making some really stupid decisions.

He wasn't too bad from what I seen, considering everyone else on team liquid were also running around like headless chickens at the time, I'm surprised he performed well enough in such a environment with no structure and toxicity. It was a bad fit and it was probably never meant to be since he was replacing the huge talent gap and the huge main star carry role left behind by s1mple while pimp played a support role and was usually the last 2 left alive most of the time. And also the fact the other person left alive was usually also hiko, almost every retake or clutch situation was leading to face palms for team liquid. Probably would do much better on a well structured team with an actual IGL, his aim and skill wasn't bad.
