Virtus.pro join EPICENTER team list

Virtus.pro have been invited to compete at EPICENTER 2017, the event's organisers have revealed.

The Polish giants are the fourth team confirmed for the event, joining the previously invited trio of SK, Gambit and Astralis.

Virtus.pro were the losing finalists of last year's EPICENTER event, which saw dignitas, now known as North, earn the grand prize of $250,000 after a highly-contested final that went to all three maps.

Virtus.pro came second at least year's EPICENTER event

EPICENTER 2017 will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from October 23-29, with the playoffs being held at the Yubileyny Sports Palace. A total of $500,000 will be on offer in the tournament, which will feature ten teams - two of which will be determined by an on-site wildcard stage featuring the winners of regional qualifiers.

FaZe are expected to be confirmed as a participating team soon after their logo was briefly shown last week in a video teaser promoting the event.

I don't see them as dead - they just play an old style and need to change to a more team based rather than aim duel based way of play. They have good players but they all play like heroes - trying to clutch every round and not using executes and team based play. They honestly play like a solo queue team a lot of times. They will do retakes 1 by 1 by 1 in a row instead of grouping up and going in all at once. Fanatic and VP do it and NiP used to play the same way but are changing and seeing some success.

I agree, I became a fan of watching the VP TEAM strategies and now they have moved away from that - how many times does Snax get picked doing a solo push? Over and over again they all try to make a play solo instead of trading and teaming up. You have 3 really good players in Pasha, Snax and Byali that look silly trying to solo against multiple players. Neo and Taz get left in positions they can't hold when the fraggers are gone leaving the support guys to try and plant or hold alone. It really isn't a skill issue - it is a play style issue.

This conflict of interest shit going on in esports is unreal. Blast Pro Series is another example, RFRSH owns parts of a couple of teams in that tournament and they are the ones behind the tournament. It's legit getting to a point where it needs to end. I won't be watching either of these two tournaments out of principle. Some form of regulation needs to happen.
