Andi steps down from Gambit

Andriy "⁠Andi⁠" Prokhorov will no longer be coaching Gambit, the organization has revealed today.

The Ukrainian joined Gambit as coach in October of last year, when he was signed by the organization to replace Mikhaylo "⁠Kane⁠" Blagin who departed to Andi's former team, Natus Vincere.

Andi felt that a change was necessary in Gambit

Andi worked with Gambit during a turbulent period in which the in-game leader role passed between multiple players and three players being changed in the "fifth player" spot: Bektiyar "⁠fitch⁠" Bahytov, Denis "⁠seized⁠" Kostin and Nikolay "⁠mir⁠" Bityukov. Accompanying that was a series of poor results—Gambit finished in last place at their last two events: StarSeries i-League Season 5 and Adrenaline Cyber League and are currently sitting at #13 in our rankings.

As a response to their bad form, Andi parted ways with the team, stating that Gambit needs a "fresh point of view":

"I made a decision to leave the team and am no longer head coach of Gambit. Some might find it strange, but it was necessary for the sake of the team. In order to win the team needs a fresh point of view and a new approach. It pains me to leave knowing that we didn't achieve the results that were expected of us by our fans. I am grateful to management, players and fans for their support." - Andi

In the meantime, Gambit's CGO Konstantin "groove" Pikiner will be accompanying the squad at events and should be standing behind them at DreamHack Open Summer and the ZOTAC Cup Masters Europe Finals.

Gambit is now down to just the five players:

You don't know ofc, but russian community knows. It is he, who upgraded Na vi's nuke. In semi final(aka prefinal) of starladder vs mouz it is been Kane decision to play 3rd map nuke instead of train. And they played amazing nuke vs best team in the world on it.

Well this is some PC BS but there have been rumors of the core of AdreN / Dosia / mou not being above from criticism tbh.. Winning Dreamhack Minor and winning major is not even comparable you silly. So what if Gambit will win minor? what will you say? Something like Gambot tier 5 because they won minor? After Zeus' departure they became tier4 team instead of tier1. Their most epic fail was kick of Kane and forcing Zeus to go. And all these after Major victory. It's insanely STUPID. CIS Cybersport as always. With braindead kicks instead of solving problems. I hate all GamBOT players cuz they are nothing, but arrogant without any reason. When they started winning (when Zeus came) I was happy for them and I thought that it is 2nd top worldclass team like Na`Vi.CSGO, but CIS mentality as always won and they are s*cking dick right know as hard as possible. And I'm VERY HAPPY for Na`Vi, it seems like they found their true mentality power. They are as 1 family, no suckers who want kick teammate, no retards, no ragers (only rare things), smart practicing and grinding to the top.
