Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev has been released from his contract with Gambit, the CIS organisation have announced.

In a statement, Gambit explained that the 28-year-old is now a free agent and thanked the player "for his invaluable contribution" to the organisation.

AdreN was one of the original players of the team, having been among the members of HS.GG who were recruited by Gambit at the beginning of 2016.

AdreN is now free to decide his future

During his time under Gambit, the team won several international events, most notably PGL Major Krakow 2017, where he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). His heroics in the Polish city would play a key role in his 17th-placed finish in the top 20 player of 2017 ranking,

In October, he was placed on the transfer list by Gambit, joining compatriot Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov, who has since signed for HellRaisers. The CIS team have endured a poor run of form in 2018, only twice making it out of the groups at a Big Event, finishing in third-fourth place on both occasions, at Dreamhack Masters Marseille and ESL One New York.

"I feel sad that I left the team during difficult times, but it was necessary for me and the team," AdreN said in a statement.

"I am glad that the organisation respected and understood my decision.

"I would like to thank the players with whom I had played for the past three years. I want to wish luck and significant victories to the new squad!"

With AdreN's departure, Gambit currently have:
