OpTic complete refrezh signing

OpTic have secured the services of former Fragsters player Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali, the North American organisation have announced.

The 20-year-old has penned a two-year deal with OpTic, who, through their Update Twitter account, @OpTicUpdate, revealed that the player will be replacing Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen in the starting line-up.

refrezh spent the majority of 2018 with Fragsters, whom he helped to semi-final runs at the DreamHack Open events in Austin and Valencia, and to a playoff appearance at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 6.

He left the team at the beginning of December "to try something new", and days later he was confirmed as a stand-in for Cloud9 at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon, averaging a 1.06 rating at the tournament, which was his first-ever Big Event.

The Danish youngster will make his first appearance for OpTic at the Europe Minor, kicking off January 16, with the roster looking as follows:

UPDATE: According to OpTic's Update Twitter account, @OpTicUpdate, refrezh will be replacing niko, whose future with the organisation is now up in the air.

Dude, he has been top performer since the making of the optic roster. I think people talk him down because of his age but he still delivers so well. Niko is young and has potential but I feel like he needs to join a team in development like fragsters squad

I personally don't think OpTic will have their full potential, without doing -cajunb +valde cajunb is a good player with alot of experience, but i think he is too old now and i think a young valde can do better than cajunb in a lot of roles in the game. Cajunb is a good secondary awper to have that valde may not be able to provide, but i still think valde>cajunb imo.

They are different players on different roles, valde might be an improvement over k0nfig or if they got him instead of refrezh. Besides Cajunb has been doing a fine job, if you watched some OpTiC games you would quickly realize he's isn't the problem on the team. k0nfig has way too many ups and downs, he topfrags one game and on the next he's on the bottom of the scoreboard.
