Wanted: match commentators
HLTV.org is always moving forward, and we have been needing commentators for our wSync project for a long time. Here is your chance to make an entrance onto the esports scene.
As you might have noticed, then HLTV.org is the author of wSync.org, a tool to synchronize a commentator with a game being played on HLTV. We are now ready to take it to the next level and start actually broadcasting games. For this we are looking for English commentators. As this is like radio, perfect English is required, also a flair for commentating and a voice that sounds good on a radio is a must.
As a commentator you will help head up this entire new branch of HLTV.org, this means you get a big say in where the radio goes, and how it will be run. It also means if the radio get really popular then this a place where it is easy to get to the top of esports really quick.
The things we are looking for in a commentator are:
- At least 18 years old.
- A very solid understanding of the English language, and a good radio voice.
- An interest in CS 1.6, the teams and the events.
- A few hours every week to broadcast matches, and a few more to develop the radio.
- Increased activity during events.
- Maturity and the ability to motivate yourself.
- An interest in building a radio station.
If the commentating is a succes there are many ways HLTV.org could take a radio, including things like buying licenses for playing music. All in all this position is a springboard into the broadcasting business for anyone interested. As with our other positions we cannot offer any salary, but depending on popularity of the radio, this could very fast develop into something that included a monthly salary.
As a member of the HLTV.org crew we can offer the following:
Be a part of the successful HLTV.org crew, with access to the private channel, all the hidden pictures of sisters, and an endless supply of fun on late night IRC sessions.
The possibility to move up the ranks. There is absolutely no reason why you should remain a unpaid member if you are good. Nix0n worked for free for two years, but put in such an effort that he now gets a salary, and travels the world doing CS coverage.
An inside look of a professional esport organisation, what goes into new features, event coverage, and the inside of esports in general.
Directly influence the way HLTV.org moves forward, get sneak previews of new features, and help guide them towards release.
All this sure sounds great on paper, but the most important reason why you should join the crew is because you want to, do it for the fun of it, and let the rest be a bonus, this way it will be way more enjoyable for both parties.
If you are interested email [email protected] and we will setup an interview and an audition.
