DreamHack Open Winter viewer's guide

As DreamHack Open Winter approaches, HLTV.org has prepared a viewer's guide containing a comprehensive outline of the $100,000 event.

The tournament will take place at the iconic Elmia Convention Centre, located in Jönköping, Sweden, from November 29 through December 1, featuring eight squads, five of which received invites, while three were admitted via the European and Swedish regional qualifiers, as well as the Finnish Esports League Season 7.

The participants were divided into two groups, with FURIA and HEROIC headlining the list as the highest ranked squads at No.13 and No.16, respectively.

Below are the two groups:

Consistent with previous DreamHack Open stops, the Winter event will feature a GSL group stage, featuring best-of-one opening and winner matches, followed by best-of-three elimination and decider series. Playoffs will see the two top teams from both groups face off in a single-elimination, best-of-three format.

The $100,000 prize pool will be divided as follows:

1. $50,000
2. $20,000
3-4. $10,000
5-6. $3,000
7-8. $2,000

Conner "⁠Scrawny⁠" Girvan will be taking over as host of the tournament in Jönköping as Dan Gaskin is unable to attend the event, with Mathieu "⁠Maniac⁠" Quiquerez and Christine "⁠potter⁠" Chi joining the Canadian on the desk over the course of the event. Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche will switch up from his role as an analyst, joining the commentary line-up alongside Tom "⁠Tombizz⁠" Bissmire, as per below:

Consistent with other tournament organisers, DreamHack have announced that the Winter Open event will be played on the latest CS:GO patch, featuring adjustments to the Krieg, FAMAS and Galil, but without the new player models, which will be disabled.
