Chaos replace Shakezullah with mCe

Chaos have made a change to their coaching staff, swapping Alan "⁠Shakezullah⁠" Hardeman for Matthew "⁠mCe⁠" Elmore.

mCe previously coached Rogue prior to the organization's departure from CS:GO, and more recently had been coaching Triumph in MDL. The 29-year-old left the Triumph ESEA roster early last week after receiving an offer from Chaos to move to the team's apartments in Arizona.

Shakezullah has been a part of the Chaos roster since it's inception, first being linked to the project in September 2019 by a report from Rush B Media. The team initially competed in ESEA MDL under the tag of Ben's Anime Team for two months before the organization officially announced their signing ahead of their appearance at DreamHack Open Atlanta.

The team failed to impress in their offline debut, exiting the tournament in last place following narrow losses to CR4ZY and the Polish Virtus.pro lineup. Shakezullah then helped the team to win the WESG 2019 North America Finals as a stand-in, with the team making two changes to their roster in the new year as they swapped Gage "⁠Infinite⁠" Green and Maxim "⁠wippie⁠" Shepelev for Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield and Anthony "⁠vanity⁠" Malaspina.

"Originally, we had planned to transition Shakezullah and wippie to Arizona when we could make it work around their schedules (or visa availability in the case of wippie)," Chaos General Manager Jared Fletcher explained in a post on the team's website. "The goal was to always have all of the players and staff living and playing together. My mistake was believing that would be alright knowing how the dynamic of some players being at a 24/7 facility and some playing from home plays out. This is definitely a necessity to push team growth forward."

HLTV.org knows that Chaos offered to retain Shakezullah as an analyst, but the 22-year-old declined with an intention to make a return to playing for a team in short order.
