Baltic DH Winter qualifier concludes

Another qualifier for DreamHack Winter took place this weekend, to be more specefic, the Baltic qualifier taking place in Tallinn, Estonia.

Held at the Le Coq football stadium, teams would this weekend be competing to reach top3, which would qualify them for DreamHack Winter. It quickly became obvious that wooSai was to claim one of the three spots, which they did by winning the upper-bracket final against Estonian team nOu.

Down in lower-bracket the Estonian fans were shocked when they saw sYnck being defeated by the Lithuanian squad of LCSL. With the loss sYnck failed to reach top3 and missed out on qualifying for DreamHack Winter.

The remaining matches of the tournament were played, seeing wooSai taking on LCSL in the Grand Final. The Lithuanian team was set to start CT on nuke, letting wooSai be the attacking-force. The Finnish squad stepped it into a whole other gear, crushing LCSL with 15-0 as T on nuke. Winning the pistol-round wooSai claimed top spot at the Baltic DreamHack Winter Qualifier, by defeating LCSL 16-0.

actually starting to like dreamhack now, what they are doing with these qualifiers is a great thing. not only does teams from small cs countries get a chance to get out and compete abroad, which is a great experience for them, but also we can see a lot of good teams there to mix it up. it would be so cool if we could ever get a topteam from another country than sweden/denmark/germany (not mentioning poland and some other countries because they pretty much only got 1 team that can compete with those top swe/den/ger teams like mtw sk fnatic mouz). really liking TitaNs and k23's success lately and i hope more teams will be able to step it up just like they've done :) always fun to see!

They would have had to pay some money to get in to the Finnish qualifiers. I don't even know if there was an entry fee in the Baltic one, just boat tickets that don't cost a lot. It will be nice to see another Finnish team playing abroad with the usual ruuit, nasu, plaste & co.
