Coverage section re-design

A few months ago we went looking for a new designer, only a few guys replied, but luckily Neffet was one of them. After getting him onboard he has been busy designing the new coverage section, and the first parts of it is ready now. The groups, coverage frontpage, brackets and result pages have been updated here in the first iteration. We will keep re-designing subpages that need a touchup, and of course also work on new features.

The new frontpage looks like this:

Brackets now feature the score of matches played:

The result section will now also present the match type:

The groups have gotten a much needed graphical touchup, and been made smaller:

And as you can see all pages have gotten a serious touchup making them much more pleasing on the eyes.

You can of course check it out yourself, e.g. on the coverage page for ESL Pro Series XV Germany.

As always bugs might have snuck in, so if you see anything odd, let us know as soon as possible!

Neat design! It would be great if it could be possible to access the match page from this section www.hltv.org/?pageid=215&eventid=376 by clicking the team1 vs team2 link for example.

Yea I know, but it is not as simple as it sounds, sadly the matchpages are not connected with the results, it is the single greatest backend design flaw we have, but it is kinda hard to fix.. I'll re-think it and see if I can come up with a solution that works..

Great idea, I've been thinking of exactly the same, because I often want to read comments about games and when the games have disappeared from "Active Threads" there's no way reaching them as far as I know.

Looks great, but just don't leave groups with no results when something is finished, it's kinda annoying when something is not complete :)

Sometimes some league/group or something that you start the coverage one remains un-updated once it has finished, for example one team remains on few played games, other on like double more etc. It happens, I can find few examples. Not that important tho, but it's annoying for me :) Still a great update.

If a team in a group do not get results they most likely didnt attend the event or something.. As for brackets it is different, because sometimes leagues fuck up and use bad double elim, meaning suddenly our brackets become incompatible, then they remain un-updated, but all events that we really cover get all results added, else demos cannot be added.. We do however sometimes create events where we do not update results or scores, that is because we need events created to do hotmatches..

I waited a bit, and now I can give you some examples :) Check your ESL Pro Series Balkan 'table' - it's missing a lot of results even in groups, and now playoffs are played. www.esl.eu/balkans/cs/ebl_season1/rankings/ Playoffs: www.esl.eu/balkans/cs/relegation/rankings/ Also, ESL Pro Series groupstage are finished tonight = all teams should have 15 matches played while in your page most have 12-13-14 :) Cheers

Yea wow, so you found the one example of two retards using the same nick.. The images are based on tags, and it will stay that way. And we cannot possibly keep up with the lineups of the ~3000 clans we have registered, the stats database has a number of players tied to teams, and these are displayed in the quickstats section, for low level teams like XpreZ that changes lineup as often as I change socks it will not always be perfect, that is just how it is.
