Groups A & B finalized

Two groups of eight have finalized, four teams advance to the playoffs.

Group A did not see much unpredicted take place. Evil Geniues demolished the challenger for the top spot, Finnish team wooSai, granting them top spot of Group A. With victories against Team LZ and 0bites, wooSai claimed second place in the group, advancing to the playoffs.

Group A

1. United States Evil Geniuses
2. Finland wooSai

Over in Group B, French side Millenium secured three wins and maximum points, giving them top spot of the group. The race to claim second place was decided when TitaNs defeated Team XLBet. The Danes had a lot of chances to grab the second spot, as they had to win big against the Singaporeans. It looked good for some time, but then TitaNs went to take rounds that ment Team XLBet could not advance after all.

Team XLBet did manage a narrow 16-14 win against TitaNs, but that did not help the Danes. Neither did it help Games4u, TitaNs advance with a -2 score difference, while Team XLBet had -4 and Games4u -5. (Three-way tie, score difference between the three teams decide the outcome - Note our group standings are incorrect)

Group B

1. France Millenium
2. Singapore TitaNs

Groups C & D will start around 14:00CET, featuring likes of SK Gaming, mTw, k1ck, NecroRaisers, Skillz of Borås and more. Find the group standings by clicking here.

thefreedictionary.com/meant "Ment" isn't a word, only if you count suffixes as words (experi-ment, orna-ment). "Meant" is the past tense and past participle of the verb "Mean". So yeah, he meant meant.

The rules are different from Football? Titan lost the game against XLBeT, how could it qualify?

Thus, the order for qualifying is Points, Round Differences, then, victory or defeat relationship? Or,ESL should learn something from the Football matches, the V-D relationship might be more Sound proofs.

I think it goes: Points, RD, re-match. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) And I totally agree with you that the winner of the match between two comparing teams should solve their places instead of RD.

Come on people... it's a three-way tie ffs, you can't use V/D between the involved teams because it'd go like this: XLBet beat Titans, so they should qualify. But Games4u beat XLBet, then they should qualify. But Titans beat Games4u, maybe they should qualify? But hey, didn't XLBet beat Titans in the first place? There's no way to define a winner through that system because each team beat one of the other two, and lost to another, so it's a cycle. Only fair way to decide who goes through is round difference.

Ya, I didn't care about the detailed relations in such 3 teams, If there's a circle, RD is no doubt the only way. Fortunately, they didn't show the same RD, otherwise, a re-match need to be considered.

Yeah, normally when the Round Difference is the same for two teams, they play a rematch to decide who goes through. I do think it's pretty lame that they aren't playing all 30 rounds in group matches though. If you're gonna use RD as a tie-breaking criteria, teams need to play all rounds so the decision is fair; at least in my opinion. :/
