HONORIS cease operations

Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas cited a lack of sufficient financial resources as the reason for the folding of the organization.

HONORIS have announced that their organization is ending its activities. The project, created in 2020 by Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and Filip "NEO" Kubski, recently hit its peak ranking of No. 43 in the world.

TaZ and NEO founded HONORIS in 2020 after both players had struggled to find a long-term home after the break up of the famous Polish Virtus.pro roster. In a statement released at the time TaZ stated "I still feel hungry for fighting and winning," whilst adding "I wanted to do it fully on my own terms, on my own responsibility and with my own long-term vision."

TaZ and NEO founded HONORIS in 2020

During its time HONORIS hosted a plethora of Polish players under its banner, with Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko and TaZ being the only two players to serve on the active lineup for the team’s entire lifespan. HONORIS cemented itself as a solid tier two squad, winning ESEA Cash Cups and reaching the finals of the ESL Polish Championship multiple times, but struggled to kick on beyond that and qualify regularly for high-caliber LAN play.

The most significant LAN event the team attended was the recent CCT Central Europe Malta Finals, where the Poles finished joint-last place.

"We hope that we have effectively shared our experience and helped develop the talents of several young players whose careers are now open," NEO said in a statement. "We have also shown that it is possible to build an organization operating on the principles of fair play - both publicly and internally."

When discussing the reasons behind the organization closing its doors, TaZ referenced the fact he and NEO have been supporting the team from their own pockets, stating "for three years, we've been holding it together financially. In HONORIS, no coconuts were earned, but the players and associates always received their salaries on time and could count on the organization's support."

He concluded by saying "facing the lack of sufficient financial resources for the coming years, together we decided to end HONORIS' activities in the current formula."

The statement also revealed that at the end of March 2023 the players and coach would become free agents, allowing them to sign for new teams. It concluded by saying that TaZ and NEO "will inform you individually about their further plans."

HONORIS' most recent roster was:

Poland Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko
Poland Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas
Poland Dawid "SaMey" Stańczak
Poland Kamil "Sobol" Sobolewski
Poland Dawid "lunAtic" Cieślak

Poland Vincent "vinS" Jozefiak - coach

Poland Filip "NEO" Kubski - substitute

I think u're right. It feels like 9ine is one switch away from becoming a team close to the top and I'd say this is it. switching kylar with dycha (i know this is really far fetched) on top of that could actually see a Polish team together with the top dogs once more (imo - theoretically). Have to add this as well: I think mynio is a great caller (huge part of 9ine's "success" so far) but his lacking firepower wont take them any further than where they are now

You should perhaps use your brain if you have one ofc, don't want to assume you have one you might take offence. Anyways, tier 2 contracts you think they on more than 2k euro per month contract? Don't have to terminate either just bench him. They also don't have to buy new player, Michu is literally a free agent and is instantly an upgrade from botatic.

Yeah, you're definitely stupid lmao. If they don't terminate they have a benched player on salary and Michu being a free agent doesn't mean he isn't paid. He still gets a salary. Anyways, no point talking to an idiot, enjoy.

Thanks for confirming you don't have a brain. If they terminate his contract, they literally just pay him all his salary that he would've gotten while benched at once. Also if you could point out where I said Michu would not get paid that would be great.

Was a matter of time but still kinda sad. They had a chance of finishing careers shortly after VP saga ended but preferred to give it a go on their own terms and I respect that.
