Evil Geniuses have moved to the Grand Final at WES Masters Cup after the tournament admins declined H2k Gaming's protest.

The Swedish team had filed a protest after two of EG's players failed to upload Custodia screenshots after the match, which was won by the American side, came to an end.

H2k claim there is no reason for EG not to be given a default loss after Moldovan team Alliance lost two of their group matches for the very same reason.

However, contacted by HLTV.org, the admins state an agreement between both teams was made before the match so that Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen could play without the anti-cheating program.

Tyler "Storm" Wood, who also did not upload his screenshots, crashed during the match, a valid reason according to the admins.

Lost internet connection? even in Sweden? I doubt that. Maybe,just maybe, H2k were angry about the match with EG and decided to throw the last match away. And somehow the admins knew it. Then H2k got banned LOL :D

he lost his internet connection because the internet cafe he was playing from was shutting down. he didnt actually just lag out and never decide to reconnect.

these rules as a whole are just a joke. but, it's all up to the admins, and biased or not, it doesn't seem to have any relation to the alliance team in my opinion. lurppis had both the h2k and the organization's permission to go without an anti-cheat, and if the admins decided that storm crashing during the game was reason enough to excuse screenshots (or whatever reason h2k had), then it's a good enough reason. and considering h2k couldn't even have a 5th player for the finals, i can't help but think that their decision was about more than "rules are rules". the only thing i can disagree with, like i said in the beginning, was h2k being banned from all WES Masters tournaments in the future. the only reasonable explanation would be that they're setting an example that WES isn't taking any shit from anyone.

Due to this protest the 3rd place decider was delayed, and zyppe was unable to stay longer at the internet cafe he was playing in. The admins refused to give H2k ZOWIE any waiting time in order to find sub for the team which they wouldn't allow to play anyhow. The WES denies H2k the right of playing the 3rd place decider and has banned the team from participating at any other of their events. I smell a brawl incoming. It's weird though: - Alliance was given two default losses vs. LCLS and LowLandLions because of their missing Custodia files. Storm crashed but that was alright - Couldn't he have launched Custodia again and then uploaded his files? EG also failed to upload Custodia files versus Estonian nOu (as seen www.custodia.biz/Match.aspx?ID=164214 and www.custodia.biz/User.aspx?ID=85066) - H2k being banned because they couldn't play with a stand-in. If I am not mistaking tikku played for Playzone yesterday as hyvlarn couldn't. Then again, H2k did spam quite enough on #WESGG @ IRC. I understand H2k though, I'm pretty sure nearly everyone else would do the same. But the organizers are the judges. I enjoyed the tournament :-)

i think that we do not know all the facts that happened.it is too confusing and weird if yesterday they make so diffirent decision than today unless they knew something we do not. i disagree with h2k decision to try this way to win the match but i think that most of us will do the same..so there is no point in saying you noobs or something like that..you just can tell your opinion in a calm way so there could be a good conversation :) this is just my opinion =] (sorry for bad english)

I find something very strange here for storm to crash and not upload custodia is acceptable but h2k to be banned from all future events because they lost connection and weren't allowed to play with a SI was according to the admins not a valid reason to not play for 3rd. placing... how does that fit together... i don't see it

It's not just about some screenshot, 2 custodia files missing. It's just about rules, we're not saying they cheated.. The admins gave penalty rounds to other teams who didn't had this too. So it's about that every team should have the same rights and be ruled the same. And not like the admins said: Team EG is Team EG... +++ This is all being hyped too much :D

money.....what would happend if EG lost in the group stages??? Probably some stupid rule will came in to play and put them as the only team passing from there group. How smart is it to ban them, when they are unable to play? I doubt they really care that much though, this tournament has seemed to be pure shit... And the stand-in rule seems weird, PZ.se used 8 different players..
