World Finals is taking shape

Extreme Masters IV World Championship Finals will open the doors tomorrow, but already now you can get a small peak inside the venue.

The creation of the venue has soon finalized as the CeBIT exhibition is due to begin tomorrow. ESL got the entire Hall 23, from the 2nd of March and all the way to the 6th. Product manager of the tournament, Michal "Carmac" Blicharz yesterday updated his facebook with a few shots from the venue.

Actualy this is going to be the best event this year imo cuz of the teams, Top 10 of the world teams are attending to these EM Finals, which is amazing and i expect a lot of great matches and action!:D

Wcg is the shit. Extreme Masters always WAS / IS / WILL BE the best tournament. Look at teams which play on WCG finals and Extreme Masters Europe / Grand finals. WCG always had weak teams at finals. Last wcg? FNATIC AGAIN? THATS ALL? AHAHAHAHA EM >>> eswc >>>>>>> wcg

If you wanted to say that WCG sucks, "WCG is shit" was more appropriate. "WCG is the shit" means it's the best or something around that.

WCG is inferior to this tournament. So much harder to progress from groupstage here, as all the opponents are top teams, where WCG usually has about 20 teams that are complete shit.

well the wcg idea is to make some king of a world cup... in football or rugby do you think the world cup should not feature teams from small coutries where they don't play at the best level? everybody should have a chance :D

Indeed. WCG is a tournament for the best teams from each nation. Maybe the competition isn't best but WCG is still the most prestigious and biggest tournament. If you compare it to football then EM is Champions Leauge but WCG is World Cup

Comparing it to football is ridiculous. The world cup is what it is for loads of different reasons, not just because of the variety in nationality(which is all that separates WCG from other tournaments).

I know what the idea behind WCG is, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a lot easier to win, because: A) There are many terrible teams B) There is not room for all the best teams in the world because of restrictions on maximum number of teams per country. C) Some teams that participate are weakened considerably, because they can't bring the members that are from a different country(like mouz) Would much rather win the globals than WCG, as it takes so much more to win it, and the whole deal about WCG being the most prestigious is very much something they decided on themselves.

Prize money of the WCG was always higher than the Globals (not including the Continental Finals and Global Challenges.) and the only exception to that is WCG 2009 that had only $35k compared to their usual $50k, $25k, $10k for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. But I agree, IEM Global Finals is by far the most exciting tournament to watch.
