fnatic replace Cloud9 at YaLLa Compass

Cloud9 have pulled out of the event as they are not able to register a full roster in time.

blameF will make his LAN debut with fnatic in Abu Dhabi

The YaLLa Compass organizers have announced that fnatic will take the place of Cloud9 at the event, as the American organization failed to register a complete roster before the deadline.

Cloud9 recently sold Denis "electroNic" Sharipov to Virtus.pro and benched Abay "HObbit" Khassenov and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy, which left the team without a full roster and forced them to withdraw from ESL Pro League S19, BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, and now Yalla Compass.

Cloud9 bench Perfecto, HObbit

Replacing Cloud9 are fnatic, who are set to make their LAN debut with Benjamin "blameF" Bremer. The team played only one event since the Dane's signing, CCT Global Finals 2024, where they suffered a group-stage exit after losses to GamerLegion and ENCE despite blameF putting up a 1.23 rating.

YaLLa Compass will be played in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and feature a $400,000 prize pool. The event will begin with two six-team BO1 round-robin groups, which will feed into a six-team playoff bracket.

The team list for the tournament is:

There must be something horribly wrong with C9 management that T3 CIS players decline to go there.

its not only the players i think, russian bookie orgs are contract jails. they are asking ridiculous amounts for tier2-3 players

High CIS buyouts are well known. But according to overdrive, players themselves don't want to go to C9. If 9pandas can get shalfey, C9 could afford too.

not necessary. forze was disbanding thats why shalfey was relatively cheap. other teams just dont want to sell their players.

There are rumours about horibble management hence why everyone decided to leave the team

Why stick to a russian speaking roster then? If ur best RU speaking player u can get to play for you is keoz, you might as well switch to english and find better players. Its not like the money is the problem for c9

C9 should just sell roster and go back to NA core or let Smooya build a team, fun mix that won’t cost much and has outside chance of making RMR. Need to drop the ruski outfit

Also something like the BnE guys would probably be good aswell, they might get into a major and definitely would be cheaper than getting top CIS players

EU players cheaper than russians? No way, maybe in buyouts only. Then again, could just be the case of bookie jails. BNE maybe, but but they already failed one org enough to disband completely.

I think in BNE’s case this situation with Guild dumping them / disbanding probably has decreased their value in the market. But thats just a guess, who knows what goes behind the scenes.

What's going on is Guild saw those guys making like 3 majors in a row without an org and thought it's worth a shot and almost guaranteed sticker money. Only for them to shit the bed when they got actual org behind them. And they never really did anything notable outside the majors anyway. Orgs are in this not to simply provide support for the players and teams they took a liking to. They are in this for publicity and attracting sponsors. And for that they need to play at least something and show some kind of results there. Even if it's just playoffs in tier-3 league or qualification to closed qualifiers of something big.

C9 behaves just like NaVi last year after Paris Major. - Disappointing Major - check - Skipping events - check - Left with 2 players - check - Ridiculous transfer rumors - check - Going international - ? They are just copying NaVi first with taking players and then with whole transfer process. Funny af :)
