BIG are set to undergo their fourth change in six months.

prosus leaves BIG's main team after a year

David "⁠prosus⁠" Hesse has been benched from BIG's active roster, the German organization announced on Wednesday. His replacement is expected to be announced shortly.

The 21-year-old had been a part of the main team for over a year. After two stints on the BIG Academy roster, he was promoted last June and went on to play at several top tournaments, averaging a 0.97 rating on LAN in his time.

BIG made it to the playoffs at ESL Pro League and secured a top-eight finish at IEM Dallas amid a slew of otherwise disappointing results. The German side most notably failed to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen and went out of IEM Cologne and IEM Katowice in the Play-in stages.

prosus' benching is the latest in a series of changes BIG have undergone in the past six months on a quest to find a more competitive roster.

In February, they benched Elias "⁠s1n⁠" Stein and Mateusz "⁠mantuu⁠" Wilczewski to bring in Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische and Jon "⁠JDC⁠" de Castro, and in May Fatih "⁠gob b⁠" Dayik was replaced by Alexander "⁠kakafu⁠" Szymanczyk as interim coach.

mantuu doesnt really make sense since they wanna be full german speaking slaxz might happen eventually when the boy out is smaller or sth like that

They wanna speak german and there is just no awping replacement. The best german speaking awpers i can think of are 1. Slaxz (locked in m80) 2. Syrson (worst t1.5 awper) 3. Panix (meh t2-3 awper) 4. hyped (meh t2-3 awper) 5. S3nsey or red, at this point i would rather have k1to awp lmfao maybe i have forgotten someone, but you can just see there is no one else to awp

Honestly a shame. JDC, krimbo and rigoN can be a dangerous trio. Just held back by very lack luster awper. Germany shares the same fate as Brazil where there's no standout awps.

Honestly,no new players except krimbo (who has his most of his favorite spot) adapt to the big system. Faven, s1n, prosus, mantuu struggled under big system. I'm not saying the kick was not deserved, but look s1n, he does better outside of big. And faven was doing okayish before nawk and jaekm addition.

Yeah, but I lost a bit of faith on tabsen. Their mentals are shaky and their mid calls were horrible. Like going to a stack 5 v 4 without probing the other site. Feels like 3 or 4 metas behind sometimes.

Smooya, would be a good bet, but we all know how he is. AcoR probably a side grade at besta. Maybe cadiaN? He might do something if he doesn't need to igl. Regali is also an option, if they decide to have English comms

:( ProBus gone. really liked the team as it was. I hope he gets picked up and has a good future ahead of him. hopefully BIG made the right decision and get better and more confident again.

Rigon is an upgrade but syrson is the problem, after the online era syrson has never been the same. Even during online tournaments after the covid era when the entire big team would be at bootcamp, syrson would be playing matches from his home. He is still doing the same thing now, idk if he is that much of an introvert or lives in some other city in germany and refuses to move to their HQ. Even in just online matches syrson hasn't managed to regain his lockdown numbers, Mantuu had a higher rating playing for big than syrson had playing for 00nation against tier 3-4 opposition.

I think they kicked him cuase they want to get out of underperformance. Personally i think prosus wasnt the resaon for the issues, but rigoN (in my eyes) still a upgrade.

if this continues to not work out its probably time to replace syrson again, i have genuinely no idea what happened to him in cs2 but my god is he awful. maybe slaxz is an option or break up the german majority and go international again
