Why should women have special treatmeant? Think about that one. They should compete like everyone else in 1.6 without male/female. They dont deserve that large amount of prize money based on their current skill.

Girls have played chess separately since they have played it. But yes, about genders equality it's kind of strange.. always, if we talk about wars, they say, "there were some victims, who were children and women", or if the ship is sinking, then children and women must be rescued before. And they're talking about having same rights and stuff.. they've got enough! But about e-sports, YES, girls must have separate competition.

It doesn't matter if we want it to be a normal sport, that's completely besides the point. The fact remains, that there are NO handicaps for women in eSport so there shouldn't be sepparate tournaments. The reason why there are sepparate tournaments however, is that female CS attracts a lot of publicity and sponsormoney,so in that sense it's okay i guess, since that will benefit male eSport as well. But besides being a regular cashcow, there is no reason to divide the two. Female CS players are shit, and that's solely due to a lack of commitment, since they have the exact same terms as men and the exact same potential. Therefore I think it's ridiculous to award them for it.

I think you never read anything about differences in male and female reflexes and manual advantages. Read something about it first. That's why men are better racing drivers, pilots or otherwise. Where reflexes and concentration matters the most. It's our evolutionary upperhand. So I think woman deserve some handicap.

Please find me a link to a study that supports your claim of superior reflexes. The reason for men's superiority in the fields you mention has to do with a better spatial and mathematical ability, plus better distant vision and depth perception, not because they have better reflexes.

You get all your data from the net?! I've read about it in a "BOOK" know what that is?! Letters on a pieces of paper. Plus you don't need abnormal mathematical knowledge to be a great race driver or pilot. It's more physics than mathematics and when you're on a track it doesn't matter. check if any of worlds top drivers have a masters in mathematics. You just need to know how a car reacts in the corners and how to cut them. How to use the clutch and double-clutching. How fast after breaking open the throttle and so on. And all those things are a matter of reflexes. And I've never seen any study that man have better long distance vision than woman.

If it's a scientific fact, you can surely find it on the net. The vast majority of studies done today are pusblished on the net, so simply claiming you read it in a book frankly seems like another way of saying you can't find proof of your claim. Here's a little info on reflexes: Reflex is a measure of how quickly a person exhibits a conditioned response to a stimulus or command. These reactions are inherent in our brain chemistry and based on past experience and inherited traits and can be altered by chemical or physical adaptations. You can not say that either sex is better or faster at any given response. As for the vision, here's an example of an article supporting that claim: www.steadyhealth.com/articles/Difference_between_male_and_female_structures__mental_and_physical__a613_f0.html

It's a problem with people like you. If something isn't online it can't be legit when it's the other way around. I can't give a source online cause I never checked it online. I just read a book stating that womans brain interprets informations longer thus the reaction takes longer. So you prove your claim by an online abstract article made by a nutrisionist. Sorry but she's not a specialist. Find the same argument made by a neurologist and I won't argue it.

Her article is based on other sources, which are also available at the link. And I'm not saying it can't be legit if it isn't online, but this is a discussion on the internet, and therefore it's ridiculous to post claims that you can't back up and expect people to believe you. Knowing how reflexes work and what influences them, I can safely say that it's bullshit to say that there's a difference between male and females. You can't even supply an author to this book you claim to have read, so how am i supposed to believe you?

Stop misinterpreting me on purpose thanks. I'm saying that when you pose a claim, you usually have to back it up and since were on the internet i can't read any book you might have, therefore it's useless as sourcematerial. And quite frankly, questioning my age is childish and moronic, and only serves to weaken your own credibility. Matthew MacDonald is a developer, author, and educator in all things Visual Basic and .NET. How would he know anything about neurologi and genetics?

Your inability of reading the book doesn't mean the argument is unexistent. It just means you're not familiar with it, it's not my fault. By the way there are more than one MacDonald in the world. I'm talking about neurosurgeon from Australia.

You don't get my point do you? My point is that it's invalid in an argument where you can't present it to the opposing side. If you can't see that, I really can't be arsed to continue this, because then you're clearly lacking any sort of common sense.

And you have a problem with logic. Existence of an empirical proof can't be inclosed by your lack of familiarity of it. It's like we have a face to face discussion about a certain topic and I quote a certain book and you dismiss it cause you haven't read it. And that's just stupid.

And believe it or not, figuring out how and when to cut a corner/brake is also a calculation based on situational conditions of the track and car and so forth.

Oh please don't lecture me about driving I took part in Peugeot and youth rallies since I was 18. Distance isn't as important as It appears that's why rallie drivers have pilots to help the estimate the distance.

Distance isn't important? Haha okay. An the fact that you participated in rallies doesn't really say anything, since it's an automated calculation your brain performs and therefore not readable or recognizable as such by the driver himself.

Oh my. Track drivers do tens of laps before they participate. Until then it's a mechanical proccess. You don't estimate, you don't think you do. You repeat every sequence in proper order. And race off track drivers have specified information about distance, cuts and corners in their ear non stop so they just drive. They visit every SS and sequence it meter by meter, the memorize it and they estimate so they don't have to do it when they drive it.

Formula 1 drivers don't have people telling them distance etc. in their ears all the time, and sure they know the track like their own backpocket, but that doesn't change the fact that they have to factor in the condition of track, tires, brakes and so forth, since those can vary a great deal from race to race and from lap to lap.

Have you even read what I posted there?! Track, off track, get the difference?! Check how many laps a driver does on F1 track during the weekend. Then check for how long this track has been in the track rotation. Then multiply the amount and finally you'll get that almost every driver who has been in F1 for few years drove every track few hundred times in different weather and technical conditions.

You oversimplify it, and of course they've driven it in a multitude of conditions, but if you feel your tires are at a lower temperature than they should be, going into a corner the driver will using his own judgement when determining how to cut it and when to brake etc. You're completely trivialising driver skill and talent, which is pretty damn ridiculous.
2010-03-30 13:31

hahaha. and you're talking about something you've got no idea about. I'm not simplifying anything. Of course you need a great amount off skills to even take off ina a 600 pounds of torque car. Or can double corner while driving 140 km/h. But when you obtain certain driving skills, when you get use to your cars behaviuor, when you know the track as the back of your hand the most important things is to stay consistent and make as little mistakes as possible. And whoever makes the least finishes on top. Just take a look at F1 drivers they're pretty close in terms of skills. Only thing that differentiates them is the performance of the car.

You're still not understanding very much of what I've said it seems. It's true that it's often a matter of making the fewest mistakes, but the mistakes you DO make are based on the driver's own judgment-calls and times where he miscalculated etc. so you're really not saying anything that changes what i said. Just take a look at F1 drivers they're pretty close in terms of skills. Only thing that differentiates them is the performance of the car. That's just stupid. Of course the performance of the car plays a big role, but that's far from the only thing that differentiates their performances.

Oh man. Get in a remotely sports car and visit some semi professional track and you'll know what it's all about. And it's niot about long distance vision. By the way do you know who won Formula 1 last season?! When you do check his final position and team the year before. Incredible skill increase in one season...I hate when people that never drove a sport car on a track talk about racing.

You picked the wrong place to share Your point of view. People here rage each other for their point of view. And my opinion is that female CS doesn't get the same amount of support and that's why it's underpayed in consideration with female CS. I'm not saying it's a good thing but that's how it is. But...if we want more woman to boost up the scene, and rise the level of comptetition sponsors should increase those awards and make it professional player friendly.

I guess pretty much all pro girls think the same way. can you imagine where Pink Zinic would place in an all male tournament although they usually place 1st in female tournaments ? ofc it would be fun to watch, and would allow them to kinda improve (although I'm sure they already have plenty of opportunities to play against guys in practice) but money-wise... waste of time for them, and girls mainly play for money, not passion :P
