DreamHack Summer with €10,000
The organisation behind DreamHack has announced more info on its 2010 Summer event.
DreamHack Summer 2010 will take place at Elmia, in Jönköping, from 19-22 June, with 16 teams involved in the Counter-Strike competition.
It has been announced that, from these 16 attendees, seven will have secured a place in one of the international qualifiers, four of which have already had their location confirmed. They will be held in Belgium, Turkey, Norway, and the Netherlands.
There will also be two online tournaments, to qualify one team apiece, as well as a BYOC qualifier, which will hand out four spots to the main tournament.
Meet Your Makers, who won DreamHack Winter 2009 after beating mTw in the final, have been given direct entry into the summer event.
The last two places will be given to the winner of DreamHack Skellefteå IV in May and to a Swedish top team in the form of a wildcard.
In addition to the €10,000 prize purse, DreamHack will also reward the winning team with five €500 gift cards from KVD, one of Scandinavia's leading auction websites, which can be used to help purchase cars. KVD will also be present at DreamHack Winter later this year, handing a €10,000 gift voucher to the winner.
The prize distribution for DreamHack Summer 2010 is as follows:
1. €6,150 + €2,500 KVD voucher
2. €3,075
3. €1,025
