The top eight teams enter the fray as IEM Katowice's field has been whittled down to 16 sides.

NiKo will make his Falcons LAN debut against Eternal Fire

The match-ups for the first round of IEM Katowice's group stage have been determined following the conclusion of the first three days of action in Poland.

Eight teams — FURIA, Eternal Fire, 3DMAX, GamerLegion, Astralis, Liquid, Virtus.pro and BIG — made it through Stage 1 to join the top eight sides in the world in a double-elimination group stage.

The two groups look as follows:

Six of the eight opening matches will be played on Saturday, with the other two taking place only on Sunday. Stage 2 will begin at 13:30 , when Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač will play his first LAN match for Falcons against Eternal Fire, and Vitality will take on 3DMAX.

Later on Saturday, Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski will make his LAN debut for FaZe as the team will take on BIG.

World No.1 Spirit will enter the server only on Sunday, locking horns with Astralis in a rematch of the BLAST World Finals semis.

The top three teams per group will qualify for the single-elimination playoffs at the Spodek Arena, with the group winners skipping the first round and going straight to the semi-finals.
