crashers win KODE5 qualifier

crashers won the Brazilian qualifier for KODE5 Latin America with a 16-11 victory over Hard Division.

The qualifier, which was played online, featured 16 teams from across the country, who were eager to claim the one Brazilian spot for KODE5 Latin America.

Made in Brazil, who announced their new line-up last week, were highly favoured to win the qualifier, but after dropping into the Lower Bracket following a default loss to brutaLity over internet problems, a shock 16-14 defeat to sDm meant they had to settle for a 5-6 placing.

In the end, crashers, who possess former CnB Gaming talent Juliano "Batistuta" Correa, came out on top, beating Hard Division 16-11 on de_inferno to secure a spot at KODE5 Latin America, which will take place from 20-23 May in Bogota, Colombia.

Too bad the tournament had lots of problems... KODE5 told brazil that they only had a week to choose teams and host an online tourney, and this sunday was mother's day to top it all :P So the organization had to choose the participants, no qualifiers, they just chose 16 teams that they 'liked' and made the tourney. Loads of internet problems, laggy servers, plus people DDoSing meant lots of surprises in the first round, including mibr having a default loss vs brutality due to heavy DDoS attacks on them. :( But Crashers is a decent team and they deserve it.

i guess its not the same play online and at a lan. this line-up of mibr is known for the great performace at the lan! and sDm (who took out mibr) had a perfect game, this result was very fair.

I was talking about the level of mibr -former playArt- on lan and internet, because I know them and I practise against them really often... bt0 for example plays with 90 ping... and vs FG and vs mibr they almost manage to win @ wcg 2009.

I cant remember... I talked with michel to practise... and then I added bt0 mk3 redfox and adr... and well, we played like 10 times in the last 2 weeks, with FG only played 3 times...

They should cancel this tournament... The fact that Crashers came up as winners is just hidding HOW BAD and shameful this tournament was, i won't blame a single person for this since a lot of individuals are part of this failure but they should definitely re-think about how it went. And if possible re-do the tournament but now prepared to face and correct the problems they had this time. Enough said! =]
