KODE5 justifies mibr disqualification
The KODE5 Latin America organisation has classified the decision to disqualify Made in Brazil from the Last Chance tournament as 'correct'.
The Brazilian team were prevented from playing their Last Chance quarter-final match against Colombian side Hadouken after three of their players arrived late after going to the hotel to pick up their luggage and check out.
mibr stated that the decision to disqualify them had allegedly been made because of pressure from local teams and some Argentines, but the tournament organisation has moved in quickly to justify the ruling.
"It is appropriate to clarify the actions surrounding the decision to disqualify the Brazilian team mibr," a KODE5 statement read. "The data collected shows that the decision was correct. We believe that the comments generated about it are based on ignorance and it is understandable.
"Today it is necessary to further review and speak with those involved to know that we proceeded in a far way, and that the Brazilian representative suffered disqualification under their own responsibility.
"In turn, the organisation rejects pressure and influence in this, and the Colombian officials stayed out of this decision to free themselves from the possibility of a bias in the decisions made.
"At last, the Brazilian team had the help of the local administration for stay, transportation and proper food until the day of their departure."
The KODE5 Latin America tournament was won by Wild Ineters from Argentina, who beat No Limits 2-0 in the final.
