No LAN finals for ESWC Poland

Polish qualifier for Electronic Sports World Cup 2010 will not have any LAN finals, due to the recent flooding hitting the country.

The Polish elite would be gathered June 4-6 in Warsaw, to fight out for who would be going to ESWC 2010. It was however today announced that there will be no LAN finals, as a result of the flooding in Poland. The organizers report that the main sponsor of the event, is losing a great amount of money, due to its investments being damaged by the flooding. Based on the loss, the sponsor has decided to pull out, leaving the organizers without the financial support for the LAN finals.

The organizers have however chosen to expand the Polish delegation for ESWC 2010, now seeing two male teams attend instead of one, and the addition of a female squad. At the current stage the organizers have not announced further updates about how the qualifier will be executed, but with no support from a main sponsor, it could very well be played online.

wow that sucks, kind of funny how FX not accepting invite is for nothing now... the whole point was to "show their support by attending all polish events"

they are called eswc finals...each nation has its own eswc final event. the polish eswc finals will take place online which is what he means. and the teams will have their trip paid. The only thing which is disappearing is the LAN event as that is what the sponsor was paying for.

Can't compare LAN with Online, important tournaments are won on LAN so there's no lag, cheat and all of that type of excuses.

no they are not invited. they turned it down afaik. they wanted to win the polish qualifier so they'd have travel expenses paid by eswc.

Just NAVI , maybe fnatic , part of that - EG col , SK MYM h2k - alternate mouz , ravens mtw ,wmf - That teams are on this same level . Playing this same shit now and on Arbalet Cup. Sorry 4 english .Tray my best.

i cant understand how poland cant have at least 1 more topteam than Fx. i mean, by the looks of community websites like this there seem to be a HUGE interest for e-sports in poland. and i guess ping problems are out of the picture nowadays since u all ping pretty good to .de huh? dont get it. sure there are perhaps not a lot of tournaments in poland but there are several developed CS-nations who are in the same situation and still manage to get a couple of good teams out there.
