SteelSeries introduces Shift keyboard

SteelSeries has introduced a new gaming keyboard to their product range, which go by the name SteelSeries Shift.

The keyboard is a part of the Zboard concept, which joined the SteelSeries product line back in 2008, when SteelSeries acquired Ideazon. Zboard allows you to change keysets, which would make you able manage specific macros and actions for various games, depending on the keyset.

The SteelSeries Shift is a new gaming keyboard in the range of keyboards with interchangeable keysets, which also allows you to record macros and actions on-the-fly. Shift also features audio, microphone as well as USB 2.0 hubs, easy access media keys and has a lifetime cycle of 15 million keystrokes per key.

You are able to order you copy of the SteelSeries Shift via the SteelSeries webshop and it will cost you €89,99, while additional keysets will be sold at a charge of €24,99. For more information about the SteelSeries Shift, head over to the SteelSeries website.

imo theres 2 things you need to focus on when buying a keyboard: the size of the keys and macros oh and background lightnings i have g15(2006 version)works fine...huge buttons :D

disagree, needed to be a Steelseries 6/7g keyboard (exactly like they are now) + Media Controls at the top (Play/Stop/NextTrack/Volume etc etc + USB soundcard / Hub built in. Nothing else

oh yea ? try to transfer a file from an usb flash drive that you put in your keyboard and then put the same usb stick in your computer and transfer that file again and you will see the difference..so putting an usb sound card in the keyboard => the sound will transmit later to your headphones because it's not in the built-in usbs of the computer

SS should done a compact keyboard with quick response and amti-gosting like that small a4thec but with quality ofc.. there alot of players that enjoy small keyboards, cause some lans don't have enough space or even the desk at home is small(my case) or even to attend lan events the basic ss keyboards don fit in the normal school paks x) SS should done a small cost keyboard to. but yet a good keyboard, like everglide t-1000..it wont last more than 2 years, but it still good enough for gaming.. thought... it's not that anybody can't afford to pay 90 euros for a keyboard it's just that i rather spend my money in a good restaurant or in booze or even clothes instead spending it on keyboard and yeah it's pretty damn expensive for a keyboard 90euros. This keyboard will cost more than 100Euros and it won't fit on my desk :\ or my eastpak... my opinion..

i never liked SS keyboards. all of them always have the enter key so big and unlike every other keyboard. i use the "\" button above the enter as a bind, so it would be really annoying to switch it over to a smaller key that's in a different position :/

As far as keyboards go, i don't think you should pay €80,- for a keyboard that is in fact very nice, but Steelseries claims that it is 'Immortal' with all of its improving specifications. they can't convince me why I should buy this new kb instead of keeping my Sidewinderx6
