KODE5 announces $40,000 purse

The KODE5 organisation has announced that the upcoming Global Finals will give away $40,000 in cash prizes.

The prize structure for the tournament is exactly the same as the one from the event in Moscow last year, meaning that the winner will walk out $25,000 richer, while $10,000 will go to the runner-up and $5,000 to the third-place finisher.

The KODE5 Global Finals will take place at the Compupalace Tech Center in Miraflores, Peru, from 3-5 December, a tournament which will attract a total of 20 teams, according to info released on the official website.

Currently, only five of the 20 teams are known, with one national stop in Brazil and a last-minute qualifier in Peru (which will qualify four teams) the only events left in the calendar.

Contacted by HLTV.org, the KODE5 organisation stated that more teams will soon be announced.

The prize distribution for the KODE5 Global Finals will be:

1. $25,000
2. $10,000
3. $5,000

The following five teams have been confirmed for the KODE5 event:

Should have been something like: 1st = 18k 2nd = 8k 3-4th = 3k 5-8th = 2k Else it's gonna be really hard to attract the top teams...

coL is not going to play the DH because the KODE qualifier, and x6tence(for example) will play the two events? sry bad english :D

x6 is able to play both events because they will attend the Finals not a qualifier (which they did already unlike coL). Therefore, if you look at the dates of the events, it is possible for x6 to attend both events.

I was under the impression that KODE has had some problems delivering what they promise as pricemoney. Kinda odd they'd go with that amount when most of the teams attending are non-pro. A huge deal for SA scene hope they come up with the money at the end
