NC delayed over captain drought

ClanBase has announced that the start of NationsCup XIV has been delayed by a week due to the lack of captains for seven nations.

The tournament was expected to start on Wednesday with the qualifying stage, but a total of seven countries have not had a single person willing to apply for the captain role.

Defending champions Sweden, Germany and Poland are among the countries who have yet to find a captain for the competition.

ClanBase has decided to postpone the qualifiers, as well the first match week, in order to make time for these nations to find a captain.

The following countries are yet to name a captain:

Sweden	Germany
Poland	Ukraine
Portugal	Spain
France

To apply to become captain for one of these countries, send an email or a private message to one of the admins on the official CB website, or go to the tournament's IRC channel at #clanbase.cs.

last year was Delpan.... but in fact, some pro players thinks, that NC is "amateur" edition of ENC. This is just about pride & honor and why those Pro needs it? In our country is everone looking forward because it´s the only time, when our community is on the one side. GL HF guys, hope this countries finds captain in next days :)

Actually you are VERY wrong. As he said, it's Rush who is Swedish captain for a long time now, in both cups. I think he retired just this year.

You guys are saying Ukraine will be the first thinking that all of Na'vi will play in one team. Who said any of them will play? Honestly I haven't seen the lineup so I can't say, but they have many teams that can play. Edit: The Avatars can't always be there to save the day :P Honestly I think Sweden or Denmark will win this due to their large talent pools, of course Sweden having the larger talent pool (they have like 4 top teams what more do you want?)

CBNC are just a B-version of ESL ENC, so we can´t count with all the pro's, but as usual I think Swedens B,C or D-team will take this one. I think Denmark will be second. No other countries have enough talents to take this one. Ukraine, Poland etc have great players, but only in one team, and they are only allowed to use 3 players from each team at the same time. And maybe they don´t even want to play. Just like fnatic/SK-players are rarely playing in NC.

You are very much wrong. You are either very young or you didn't follow too much of the cup's history...I see you are writing about Sweden...Swedish CB NC team was way better than ESL ENC's team for example. They won both, but still it wasn't D-team as you said in any of the cups.

the thing about CBNC is that the players seems to like it despite the lack of prizes, otherwise it would never have survived for this long. besides, it should be an honor to play for your country in an official competition at all times, period.

It's only few "top players" that don't want to play for their countries. I gave me personal opinion on this topic many times. I think that NC should never have prizes...before it was a great honor representing your country and now all players care is money. ESL f***** that in my opinion. "Smaller" nations still respect that imo and don't even think about prizes, that's why it's these countries listed and not Italy or Slovenia for example...

There is not much honor because clanbase isn't nearly as big as it used to be and why would you play for honor when you can play for honor + money. Teams have more things to do than play matches that just gives them some honor, practice for money tournaments for example besides you can get plenty of honor winning gathers or pcw's. You could stop complaining and see if you can find some sponsors which would make it worthy to attend this cup again. Stop blaming ESL, they are doing a great thing for e-sports.

Seems some players have either a tight schedule or are not interested in playing. National communities should think about gathering players (similar to that ESL mix team I have seen around the forums) and step in for their country.
