Na'Vi take down compLexity

Natus Vincere has defeated compLexity 16-10 on de_dust2 and 16-5 on de_train. Na’Vi will now face mTw in the other Semi-final to be played tomorrow.

Na’Vi started off as terrorists on de_dust2 , and won the pistol and following save rounds quite convincingly.  The fourth round setup an AWP battle between Yegor “Markeloff” Markelov and Gabriel “Fallen” Toledo with Markeloff taking the first four or five battles in mid.  Na’Vi used these victories to pick up thirteen rounds as terrorists.

In the second half, compLexity were able to start off much the same way as Na’Vi,  grabbing the pistol and the following rounds. Fallen begun to take control of the AWP battle and like we saw in first half, this dictated who was winning the rounds.  compLexity were able to make a real go of the what looked like a lost cause, and at one stage got to 14-10.  Na’Vi  started to play an aggressive B tunnel, and this seemed to change the chemistry of compLexity’s timed pushes.  Na’Vi was able to lock it down and finish them off 16-10.

Na’Vi entered de_train full of confidence. Na’Vi took the pistol and the next six rounds. A small reprieve from compLexity picking up a single round, didn’t seem to bother Na’Vi as they continued to pile on the pressure. compLexity did however manage to pick up the final round ending the half at 13-2 favouring the Ukrainians.

Na’Vi were able to take the all important pistol round, and as expected Markeloff rushed straight for the AWP looking to close the game out. To their credit compLexity did manage to pick up a few gun rounds, but it wasn’t enough. Na’Vi quickly finished the match 16-5.

Na’Vi will now face mTw in the other Semi-Final to be played tomorrow.

There are many players capable of doing the same thing, honestly I think coL didn't have much of a good day. Fallen may have gotten most of the frags but he did miss a lot and he didn't have a lot of cover. Can tell cause while the camera man wasn't focusing on the action and just switching between a million players you can see some of the coL members were looking the wrong way or turning at the wrong time. Not saying coL are bad or anything, just saying things didn't seem to go that well for them and there were mistakes made. They are only human after all though.

Well you know what i mean by many, as in among the awpers in the top level. Not as in like everyone in the CS population lol. Though yeah, just like the part where the commentator decided to skip the action inside and talked about bit staying up in tower or "heaven" instead... Even though we missed the action we did notice that he rotated way too late as he decided to jump down and rotate 5-10 seconds later.

agreed. they should use seeds next time. It was also lame that mtw just could fool around in the last game of yesterdays groupmatches because they were certain of ending nr1. I rlly dont like this way of two teams advancing straight for the semi finals. Teams like Mouz could have improved the level alot. But its kinda stange we dont even see a single german team when the turne is heldt in germany.

markeloff had the advantage every round.. or have you never played dust2 before? markeloff has the job of picking coL's 1 player mid, and has the higher angle to pick from. FalleN has to watch t spawn, dark alley, cat, back of mid, green box, and lower.. and he has 5 players to worry about, not just 1 like mark. not saying markeloffs not amazing, but the d2 shots he hit meant nothing.

100 percent -true... It was most of all - typical awp shots nothing special as they were rehearsed many times by Markeloff. But it's part of his skill as a player anyway.

Actually, they did. They've played about 16 maps with NaVi, train\d2\inf. Inf\d2 - 50\50, train - NaVi. First day when Col played about 3 infs,so thats why they decided to play d2 instead(cause navi played 2 dusts during the group stage).

so just to be clear, they chose to play dust2 vs a team that had played dust2 two times in the groupstage, and won both times? and i assume they have played na'vi in pracc since you say 16 maps, and have they won 50/50 of the maps ? or ?

Nope, they've tried to make a smart move. I'll try to explan: after the Groupe stage Na'vi studied Col's inf(3 matches @ groupe stage) while Col studied Na'vis d2(2 mathes @ groupe stage). So they thought it would be a tactical advantage to start with d2. About praccs, dunno how much did they won, but Zeus clearly sad that their inferno is by far better than d2.

same in holland (only 2 lans a year, and both have 500 euro prize purse for 1.6), but I think the talent pool in brasil is bigger, so would be good to see some more teams travelling to compete

lions has got 3 potentially great awpers (only niko who is really using it often so I guess khrystal and frt3 may have lost a bit of their touch) so no need for him.sk would be interesting to see him in, but gabriel's swedish isn't good enough for that to happen ;]

As I expected, training only before a tournament in europe is not enough. They need to bootcamp more to fix their epic wrong moves, specially knife rounds, if they want to win matches like these ones.

really? pracc KNIFE ROUNDS? knife rounds are a little bit random i must say. they need to pracc both sides really hard and improve their skill A LOT! bit was really bad on this tournament, that's a shame because he used to be a world-class player some years ago! other thing is the unstable matches, like losing for TCM and after that winning M5...

Yes, KNIFE ROUNDS. They lost all of their knife rounds. The only two they won were against UMX (or M5, i can't remember) and mTw. Bit and bruno aren't in their usual shape anymore, speacilly bruno (however, he kinda played good in some matches). We need to bring some new blood to the international scene I'm afraid.

it's a very good result tbh, look at the teams above, mTw, SK, Na'Vi and FX no one would ever expect coL to place above them, though ofc. with the groups screwed that much up it's hard to say anything general, but no matter what coL made a great showing.

I dunno why people are hammering down on coL so much. With all due respect, they are a big team on the world scenery. Was it expected? Yes. Navi lives a better moment, obviously. Could coL win? Yes. Imo. Is Fallen better than markeloff? Yes, imo, at the moment he is. Numbers prove that, but not only that- I like how he is more agressive. Markeloff is an awesome awper but his style is calm, sitting and aiming- and he's awesome at that. I think Fallen is capable of dealing with a higher variety of fast situations and such. bit needs to play half of what he knows, and btt has to come back in bruno's place. Then, we'll have a coL seriously competing against the big guys. GG Navi, gg Fallen.

serious? What do u know about Markeloff style? And what figures are u talking about? All figures are on the screen! col were destroyed on the ct side of dust, on t side of train and most of all by Markeloff. Fallen is a great player, but he also lost all those rounds with rest of his team. For example, Neo won the round with saved awp and deagles of his teammates!

coL needs to do what Na'vi did in 2010 and just copy all the big team's strats and improve them for their own gameplay. And not practice against the team they are facing lol. ceh9 said that coL practiced against them for 8 games and they didn't change their tactics...coL was being stupid then lol... Gotta be smart like na'vi. Sometimes you gotta steal some strats to win a tournament.
