Mindfreak capture Vulcan300 squad

Australian e-sports organisation Mindfreak have bolstered their ranks by adding the former Vulcan300 squad and announcing two new sponsors in AMD and Razer.

Vulcan300 have been a top three squad in Australia for many years, but the players have always lacked a major sponsor regardless of their achievements.

The squad will now team up with Mindfreak who have managed to snare AMD and Razer both in the past week, and become one of Australia's premier organisations over many gaming platforms.

Team captain Peter "oxey" Lo had this to say:

"We are glad to have finally found a sponsor whom is willing to support us in many ways for our future nationals as there are very few organizations in Australia whom are able to offer anything to the CS scene. This will allow us to attend all interstate competitions which was highly unlikely before Mindfreak offered their services with the help from their sponsors AMD and Razer."

Mindfreak's new CS 1.6 division is:

Australia Mark "kram" Pearce
Australia Jess "ssar" Somsiri
Australia Peter "oxey" Lo
Australia Matt "mafu" Chan
Australia Michael "c0ke" Truong
Australia Andrew "nameci" Luong

Mindfreak are competing in the Western Digital Cyber Gamer invite league where they are currently undefeated.

Well I still doesn't think that they can do any serious damage, maybe 10 rounds against a semi-good European team, but I hope they can attend at some big events and prove that I'm wrong :-)

Wont happen, games almost dead in aus there are literally like only 150 active players left and no new players are coming in. Esports is also virtually non existant in aus. mix in our crappy internet compared to other countries like swe, korea etc and you just have an un-winable recipe.

seriously infrequent you're the biggest dud ever. you talk so much smack for someone who is a pathetic 12 year old. 3/5 of them (their core 5) have played internationally on more then one occasion. c0ke and kram more recently then oxey. they're a more stable team to represent australia then immunity is (nothing against the immunity guys but the team just constantly changes too much).

are you fucking retarded ? it's news worthy, its a top3 team in a country with decent sponsors. If you look like 10 stories down, you will see a story about a Brazilian team who is ranked like 5th in their country and 3 or 4 polish teams who is probably top 7 as well. Because i'm from Australia i'm not allowed to write about it ? why even bring Immunity into this ? There is no rule saying 1 team per country in order for it to be news.

One problem for aus Esports is younger minds talking about stuff they have no back up on its good to see the international community + the Australian community get behind us and we thank you all even the people who hate just make us want to prove them wrong.

And infrequent, you sir are an idiot, if half the australian teams lived in europe and were able to have the practise both online and in major lan tournaments i wouldnt be suprised to see them in the top 10 teams in the world. The best team Aus has ever produced was the iM team in 2008 (ferg, yaman, deStiny kram and benoR) and they went overseas without any practice and still managed to play in the top 10 at WCG. So i think if one of thier top tier teams got multiple chances to compete against the best teams in the world we could see some top 10 finishes on a regular basis.
