Spixelania sets a new record

The Swedish LAN event Spixelania sets a new record for Swedish LAN events with the highest prize pool ever.
According to MeetYourMakers.com it should be approximately $20.000 and with open spots for up to 1000 gamers that will bring their own computer.

There will also be a tournament area for foreign teams and professional teams with 40 computers + 19" CRTs.

Also teams like Norway MYM, Finland N69E28, Sweden Fnatic, Sweden Begrip, Poland Pentagram, Sweden NiP, Sweden SK-Gaming and Denmark NoA should already have been signed up or have shown interest for the event which is held 24th of May up to the 27th of May in Umeå, Sweden.

Below you can see the prize money overview for the Counter Strike and Warcraft tournaments:

Counter Strike:

3. $2.250

WarCraft:

1. $1.500
2. $750
3. $450

HLTV.org will of course be delivering live HLTV and coverage from all matches!

Well most of the American teams have switched over to Counter-Strike:Source unfortunately so that whole World versus Europe thing is pretty much dead atm. :(

Thats lies.. Dreamhack has in it's amateur tournaments 201,000 SEK (not wsvg etc.), and Wonderbase that was held in November last year had a total of 137,000 SEK. As you may see in a update on their page, they changed their information. HLTV has also been notified that this is not correct without any action. Have a nice weekend all :)
