ASUS Spring reaches brackets

Both group stages at ASUS Spring have come to an end, and only eight teams remain in contention.

The biggest surprise of the second group stage came with Virtus.pro crashing out, after a 16-14 defeat against zNation and 25-5 thrashing at the hands of DTS.

Natus Vincere were surprised by Storm in their first match but still managed to come out on top of their group with victories over Begrip and double damage.


Virtus.pro shocked at early exit

As expected, Russian duo Moscow Five and USSR topped their respective groups with nine points, securing a top seed in the brackets.

The quarter-finals, played in a best-of-three mode, will kick off at 09:00 (CET time), with the semi-finals set for 12:30 and the final for 16:00.

WTF are you talking about watch demos and look after him. Every time he has deagle he does at least one headshot. Every time someone goes to the bombsite that he is in, he does at least one kill. So, look after the game before suggesting such an extremal way of improving the game.

VP need to disband. They just shame "Virtus.pro >" prefix. They won't play better. Old good VP is just history. They will never play at the same level again. Reason is simple - players like Edward and Zeus who were dominate CS scene with Virtus for some time are captured by Na`Vi and definetly are not goind to leave. And in Russia there aren't good enough players to compete against SK, fnatic, FX, Na`Vi, mTw.

without individual skill of players you will lose openfrags, clutches, aces. At IEM5 WC it was Na`Vi vs FX finals, score was 15-14 for Na`Vi and markeloff clutch 1vs3 situation. Everyone thought it's gonna be overtime but markeloff killed them all. That cost FX overtime and chance for the title and you say it's not about personal skill of each player. In one interview Zeus sad "Whatever your tactics, when you get out of the corner and get a headshot with the first bullet, you have nothing to do with that." I don't try to say that tactics or charisma are not important but because when I watched VP and their low defence on the nuke when 4 players of fnatic walked out through the door and VP player sprayed from m4 and din't kill anyone, I don't think it's about tactics. And like you said , their individual quality is out of discussion, you were right, because there is nothing to discuss. =]

Did I mentioned any of the VP players to be as good as mNR or those you mentioned? NOT. I agree with Zeus in terms of a short run, headshots can save a fail tactic, but not during an entire game, aim-based teams show that all the time, they just fail at comprehending how CS has to be played on a top level, you can see it on many EPS leagues during the last year at least,
