Red turns to source

The former Four Kings player, Louis "Red`" Nyberg has joined the new EYEballers source team and as a result is leaving the CS1.6 scene.

Over in the USA CS:Source has really taken over, with the top teams such as compLexity, Team 3D and zEx all converting their main CS1.6 teams into CS:S teams. The revolution, be it good or bad, seems to be crossing the ocean and invading Europe.

A few weeks ago the well-known organisation EYEballers announced they were opening a Counter-Strike: Source team, and a few days ago the former 4Kings player Lous "Red`" Nyberg announced he would be part of this new squad. Nyberg recently played for SK-Gaming in their ESWC Pre-qualifier and helped them win that event. The fact he played for such top class teams and was still in his prime shows that the CS:S revolution really is spreading in Europe.

The EYEballers CS:S roster currently looks like this:

Only time will tell if this trend will follow with top names changing games, although it will be interesting to see coL, 3D and now EYE competing in a CS:S event!

I must say it feels like a great loss to the 1.6 scene. Red really played well during his time around 1.6. Acting stand-in for a lot of really nice teams, 4K, fnatic & SK-Gaming. But as he said 'it's stupid not to join CS:S now', I guess he felt he had a better future with CS:S, than with 1.6.

I guess SK didn't feel like Red was a right player for them. So no top team for him, no chance to win something. Then people switch to source.

CS:Source is sucks i think coL, Team3d and the other teams choosed source, because in 1.6 the top 10 teams is more stronger and they have less change to win a tournament. They fled from the challenges. Good Luck RED, and other players with source. The game is still Counter Strike 1.6.

@gotfrag he told that sk was full because bds found a 5. player and no other swedish team needs a player. so it was the only thing he could do. but he doesnt know what he would do when they dont make it in the cgs

Moving to Source is like moving from the solid wooden wheel to spoked alloys. If you think 1.6 will be here forever then you are living in the past. Source is the short term future and you all know it, once the wrinkles are ironed people will never look back. dude 1.6 and source are not the same games and the example that you gave is wrong. The example mroe fits into 1.5 to 1.6 but definately not 1.6 to source. if you like source go and play it and leave us be becouse i would rather quit playing 1.6 than play a game that i have no interest in.

Rofl all the big teams will move to source, you will be left stamping your feet and sticking your fingers in your ears like children. now now tantrum tantrum.Foools and i dont perticuly want any of you muppets to be my friends rofl. NABS. Hey lets all be real hardcore gamers and stick to black n white monitors and start playing blip tennis. No ile get cs 1.1 beta and play that, then when they do all the updates ile take em, then ile have 1.5, and wow yes ile have 1.6 too. But they all got old, and yes i hated source, but hey its progress. Soon you will find as many 1.6 servers as you can 1.5 or earlier. Good luck diehards.

Such a shame, I think "most" people who play Source haven't played 1.6 on at least mid level and find it to difficult compared to Source. Probably in the future when some clans will leave 1.6, the best ones will stay and compete. EYEballers haven't been able to compete against clans as SK, fnatic, ... for a few years now.

If you nabs could read you would have seen me talk about early cs, ive been playing for years n years n years, well since 1.1 (and still have original disc, wonid and blah). But it is tired now and source is vibrant. Out with the old and in with the new, its the way life is, get used to it.

Two words for Source. Bad Gamers. ___ That game have been made for those "n00b" players, and specially to make MONEY... If CS 1.6 die (will never happen, because there's people still buying it) i will play Ricochet or PacMan instead of that game for newbies that dont deserve the name of "Counter Strike" Dead to SOURCE... i don't see 1.6 dying in the near future, since so many people like it so much. Like, people will probably keep playing it on funlans or on own servers, even when valve would close all 1.6 servers.

Valve CAN´T close 1.6 servers because WE PAYED FOR 1.6 !! If you buy another game you still can play it even developer don´t want it. It isn´t like with 1.5 - You don´t buy 1.5, so they can stop servers(Because they want people buy 1.6...) So just keep playing and no fear, Valve can´t do anything!
