4K^Ben Interview

Over at SK-Gaming they recently interviewed 4K^Ben. The interview itself is quite long and it goes on about general e-sports, personal memories and much more.

4Kings.Intel are one of the longest established clans worldwide today and over the years they have had their ups and downs. Behind every professional team is a management and Ben is one of the guys who is the core of 4Kings. Without Ben do you really think 4Kings would be where they are today?

What made you decide to let mangiacapra and harriman back into the line-up?
Marc and Stu are both former members of the team, back when they both played for us they we’re considered the best duo in the UK. Stuart has obviously taken a lot of time off gaming and only recently returned but his performance at ESWC UK(despite us losing!) restored faith in everyone that he’s back to his old best.
Marc, as everyone knows, is a solid player with vast amounts of experience, we wanted to make sure we got a blend of experience and inexperience so it weighed up perfectly. Having lost to Dignitas in 3 maps at ESWC UK, winning the first map convincingly and basically throwing away the second map when all we needed was a single round, I still believe the team we have are more than capable of performing well on home turf.

With the appearance of the Championship Gaming Series, did it ever cross your mind to possibly boycott the attempted transition from 1.6 to source?
Not really, you just have to open your mind to the games around you and be realistic, given time CSS(or a pro mod) will be taking over CS 1.6, especially now valve have stopped broadcasts of 1.6 on TV in favor of source.

i have to agree, its just 1.6 with pimped up textures on a way more demanding engine. if it even makes it to release that is.

#2 well if its like u said its much better then source!So if it will come to that,to choose between source and promod i hope everybody will choose promod,that is if 1.6 dies :(

i was speaking hipotetically if 1.6 dies THEN i would choose promod over source anyday:P

dude if u play 1.6 on a war server u wont find many cheater just dont go pub and is source any better NOOOO

It all depends what level you are playing at. Once you get to the highskilled level, you get invited into lots of "secret" IRC channels. Where mostly known and good teams play. It gives great pratice and is really a relief from the spongey, lagging and hacking players. :)
