ASUS Summer announced

ASUS Summer has been announced to take place August 13-14 at the Kiev CyberSport Arena.

The previous edition of the ASUS tournament took place in May and was won by the Ukrainians Natus Vincere, following a 2-0 defeat of countrymen DTS.

The Sumer edition of the Russian organized tournament has now been announced, once again taking place in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. This time around, the tournament will unlike the previous editions, only feature 16 teams, compared to the 32 teams attending the previous ones.

The prize purse has also decreased a bit, from 275,000 rubles at the Spring tournament to 250,000 rubles for the Summer edition, which equals a little over $8,800.

Natus Vincere are the current champions, meaning they are directly qualified. Whether the team will attend is however currently not known.

Any teams outside the CIS area wanting to attend the event, should send an email to [email protected] in order to get in line for an invitation.

you have to know that there will be a female cs tournament, as well as non-pro one (but it will take place in Moscow) and sc2 tournament and times it by four = a lot of money.

Stupid. Stack the prizepool's to a big one so we can have a nice event with more top teams, instead of having sloppy events every 2-3 months that only attracts Na'Vi to the venue.

if there were only big tournaments there would be like 6 teams playing proffesional CS. we need theese "small" tournaments to keep the scene alive.

Right now, what the scene need is sponsor names and higher spectator numbers, otherwise CS will fall behind Starcraft 2 more and more. The way to get this is to have entertaining matches and events, how entertaining is it to see Na'Vi play with the opponents? The only entertainig match could be the final or semi-final. Thats not what i call entertainment.

No ? But more the '' less good teams'' can play against the top teams, the more motivited they get, and want's to pracc more and more, and that's good cuz more you play the better you get.

but not only that but we need more streamers that can get more excited on the streams so it doesnt sound shitty, afterall, all the viewers will probably sit for the whole thing for 3-4 days straight basicly, if the viewers arent entertained from the streamers, then it wont attract to next tournaments, IMO!!

yes of course i agree with that. but we need more semi-pro teams and players coming up aswell. and for that we need tournaments like this. not because the lower teams play against na'vi and gets motivated, but because then they can win som tournaments aswell and THEN get motivated.

4 times a year means the CIS mediocre team would get a chance to compete more often, it the org. zipped it into 1 or 2, it certainly invited more strong teams and left the previous ones no chance, so totally it ain't bad a decision

Nice i'am very glad to hear that :) I've a fan of k23 for along time.Evevn if Faroe Island is not even close to kz :D The k23 has been very intresting, they've got not the best players in the world, but since Konstantin came from Virtus.Pro to k23, made a huge different. I remeber k23 played very clever, many awesome strats and tacks, very well organized on the maps, and very good routating, they just knew exectly what to do, if they got a frag or lost one. The european cs is so much different, the tacka has just flown out of the window. But how come AdreN is not playing with them :)?

Such a great tournament, but I think Na`Vi will play without any tactics, just by their aim skills.

Maybe, but CIS teams have great fraggers. And all of them will prepare to NAVI. So its dangerous to play with "only AIM". but I agree with you.

No doubt m5 will best system this time. At asus spring it was just a week since they brought back xek, and system trained 2 weeks in a row at kiev cybersport arena, while m5 b only 2 days. This time the things gonna be different.

so now that sk won two tournaments in a row, this means that everything that Na'Vi won will go to SK right? OK, now go outside kid and have a little walk there alright?

FX didnt attend to DH! And ISC8 come on ? did u see the teams play up to their best ? And m5 and fnatic has no chance against mTw, Fx, Sk and Na'Vi what so ever, the only rly match was sk and Fx and Sk won that.

But M5 tied against SK in Dreamhack Summer, and win 1 map against them in the finals of the ICSC 8. IMO DTS can't make this.
