GameGune Day two recap

Day two of GameGune 2011 has just finished, and it's time to have a look at the Bracket and see what is ahead of us going into day three.

The day started with the final set of matches from the group stage still to be played. Group D did not go as expected, ESC Gaming went down to LowLandLions and then defeated Moscow Five to snatch first place from Moscow Five. LowLandLions and DN-Gaming found themselves in a dispute over who would advance as they both finished on the same points. After an hour of deliberation, they finally settled on a MR5 Overtime to decide who would progress. LowLandLions came out the stronger and advanced to the bracket finals.

The upper bracket went as expected in the first round, with the big four group winners (Natus Vincere, SK Gaming, fnatic and ESC Gaming) all advancing. In the first round of the lower bracket we saw Moscow Five, k1ck, Defining Stars and LowLandLions all make their exits.

ESC Gaming still fighting in the lower bracket

Electronic Sahara went down to x6tence and paiN ended DELTA's dream run in the second round of the lower bracket. SK Gaming went up against long time nemeses fnatic in the upper bracket, and sent them down to the lower bracket. Natus Vincere managed to do the same with ESC Gaming. In the first of the lower bracket semi-finals, fnatic showed too much class for x6tence to book a place in the lower bracket final against the winner of ESC Gaming and paiN.

So if that was a little too much to follow, here is how the bracket looks at the end of Day Two.

Tomorrow we will see the the final lower bracket semi-final between paiN and ESC Gaming at 11:00 as well as the upper bracket final between SK Gaming and Natus Vincere. This will then be followed by the lower bracket final afterwards, with the consolidation and Grand-final to follow and end the proceedings of GameGune 2011.

We hope you have enjoyed day two as much we have, and we look forward to seeing you again in a few hours to kick off day three.

On a brazilian streaming, coachi said the team hadn't so internacional experience, and SHOW didn't play so well (x fnatic), like he played x CNB.

It's not the first event of Delta, but this is firts event for them with those players. however good tournament, they could outdo pain, if they wouldn't have use awp imo, but still they would lose with esc later. They got experience and had fun. Good job

imagine having 1 bracket that being the upper bracket....when you lose you don't get eliminated from the tournament but you get another chance that being at another "level"! Every team that looses a map drops to the lower bracket, when you lose in the lower bracket you get eliminated! The team that tops lower bracket faces off the winner of the upper bracket in the bo3 final with the upper bracket winner having 1-0 map lead 1 more thing: You lose in upper bracket's 1/4 final, you drop into lower bracket's 1/4 final! Hope this helps, or just makes it more complicated :))

+1 for fuck the nuke , if it was bo3 maybe M5 and K1CK didnt go home , I just dont like the concept of only 3 maps and no bo3 till finals but the bracket system is awsome (:

SK will take this imo....they'll prolly defeat Na'Vi at de_nuke (can't tell how much as na'vi improved at nuke, but I think it'll be hard to defeat the best team at nuke atm, and statistically 2 from the 3 best players at nuke) and then in the Grand final if they face Na'Vi they'll choose nuke, and if they face fnatic or ESC, I think they would seal the win after the first map :)
