a2g splits into two
The Swedish team that introduced an almost entirely new roster just ten days ago has once again gone through changes after some discouraging results, this time effectively splitting the team into two.
a2g was formed a couple of months ago following Manne "manne" Nordqvist's departure from his short stint in fnatic. They attended ASUS Summer 2011 in Kiev under the a2g organization, but failed to impress as they dropped out in the first group stage. They then went through a major roster rehaul, as they recruited Markus "pronax" Wallsten, Dennis "dennis" Edman and André "keiz" Carlsson.
In those last ten days they participated in the ESWC online qualifier, placing 9-12th after losses against Nordqvist's former team fnatic and Moscow Five. On the past weekend they also participated in the Swedish Championship pre-qualifier which they managed to win over embrace in the grand finals, qualifying for the Swedish Championship qualifier to be held on October 8-9 at Stockholm E-Sport Arena.
Contaced on the matter, Jon "hyvlarn" Edelsvärd had the following to say:
"Less than a week ago, I decided after many if's and but's to recruit pronax, dennis and keiz. It proved to be a brutal mistake, as those players seem to not be able to handle defeat. Everything isn't perfect and puzzled up in a new team. In order to make results a team must practice and give it time, which they did not agree with; time wasn't an option even though pronax promised it. One might ask why I brought them on from the very beginning when our previous duttdutt-teams have not maintained steady lineups. To answer that question, me and manne basically got a huge knife in our backs. We will review the situation in the near future and then we will provide more information later on."
a2g is left with:
Jon "hyvlarn" Edelsvärd
Manne "manne" Nordqvist
With the Swedish Championship qualifier looming under two weeks away, HLTV.org is not sure whether the spot a2g won stays with the a2g organization or if the majority of players get to keep it, in which case where Jonathan "lidde" Lidgren (who stood in for Carlsson in the pre-qualifier) ends up could determine the fate of the spot.
In either case, at least one of these teams will be forced to complete their roster soon if they wish to attend the event.
