ESL bans zaider, CosMo and Snax

ESL has issued two-year bans to Emil "zaider "Brandt, Warren "CosMo" Boisnard and Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, as well as 490 others caught by the ESL Wire Anti-Cheat.

Shit already hit the fan yesterday when several users discovered that Emil "zaider" Brandt, Warren "CosMo" Boisnard and Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski had all been issued 12 penalty points, which results in a two-year ban.

The ESL today issued news, announcing that 493 cheaters had been caught via ESL Wire, since the last major ban hammer took place, which was back in June. ESL does however state that almost 200 of them were caught recently.

In the news published on ESL website, it is furthermore stated that ESL currently gather information on players who try to bypass the program, which is done by manipulating their hardware and/or software, these "cheaters" if you like, will be banned soon too. HLTV.org understands that Warren "CosMo" Boisnard was banned due to cheating in a gather on ESL. The Frenchmen yesterday via Electronic Sahara's website issued a statement, in which he explained that after the suspicion surrounding Underdog$ in ICSC 9, he went on to watch the demo between Underdog$ and ESC Gaming while using wallhack.

Moments after he was called to play a gather on ESL, he joined the match with the wallhack running, but quickly realized it was running and went to shut it off, but at the time had already been sniffed out by ESL Wire.

Emil "zaider" Brandt was banned by ESL for cheating in a uyR cup. This is Brandt's second ban this month, as he earlier this month received a one-year ban in Denmark, disallowing him to participate in any XplayN.com activities. In an interview with XplayN.com he explains that he has had a "silent defuse" script in his cstrike for more than a year, but other than that has no clue why he was banned.

The suspicion on whether Brandt is cheating went up a notch after the ICSC 9 match against Virtus.pro yesterday, where EAC caught a screenshot of his console, having the "ankfest" GUI, which supposedly is a cheating GUI to work around EAC. ICSC officials have at the moment not taken any action, but are investigation the case.

As for Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, not a whole lot of information is available. On his ESL profile it's written that his two-year ban will not have rehabilitation possible, which usually is possible via ESL's cheater rehabilitation, something both Brandt and Boisnard will be able to take part in.

Currently it is not known if any of the players will have their sentence shorten or removed, it is a process the players will have to go through with the ESL to determine. As of now, the three players will not be able to take part in any ESL activities for two years.
