We speak with fnatic's captain, Patrik "cArn" Sättermon after defeating Lions 2-1 in the Grand Final at MSI BEAT IT 2011.

Saturday night the 26-year-old added his first DreamHack title to an already impressive list of events won in his career. The title came as fnatic won 2-1 against Lions in the Grand Final.

After the prize ceremony we conducted an interview with the fnatic captain, to talk about the victory, the event as a whole and a lot more. Hit play below to watch our last video interview from MSI BEAT IT 2011.

I don't think that he's shittalking manne in person, but that the whole thing (hiring/releasing him so fast) was stupid. Concerning the rest, the reasons for this mess, we do not know and cannot judge.

I'm solely talking about the hasty, and somewhat dumb, decisions the team and I did in June, replacing Pita only to take him back a few weeks later. I might not have expressed this clearly in the interview, but let me try to clarify what I mean: I'm NOT talking about Manne as a person or player, only the fact that we should NOT have taken the decision to replace replace Pita, and sitting here now looking back to it I think it's fair to say we acted stupid. Worth to mention is that the interview is taking place after 9 maps of intense CS, so that could have made my answer turning out as rude, something that once again was not my intention. Hope this post, one of few I do here, straighten out this misunderstanding. Thanks for everyone's support! // cArn

i said the same thing in another thread....all the people that said carn was only good bc he was playing with forest and get_right should suck his dick, he proved he can lead any team to a championship. He doesnt need forest or get_right to get the job done. congrats fnatic.

Glad to see fnatic getting back on track, really an amazing tournament from them, and also MSI BEAT IT Russia was good as well although they lost to M5 on finals, but still, they are now being pretty consistent with their performance and I hope it will stay like that because I'm a huge fan of Gux :P Congratulations.

they are just happy as fuck :) carn is the most professional and respectful player in the scene imo what he said for manne is just the truth, recruiting him was a stupid decision. as for pita, he's just kind of rushed by adrenaline still after the win, and many people were saying he is a noob and has no place in fnatic. now he prooved his haters are wrong, it's natural to be proud :) he is a great sportman, but I admit he should cut dirty language in interviews :D

I'm really happy that fnatic won this tournament and that Lions stepped it up. It's nice to see another team in the top except for AGAiN/SK/Na`Vi and it's nice to see teams stepping up. cArn is one of the best IGL's to ever play this game and the fact that he keeps playing even when he's 26 years old is pretty amazing. I'm glad that fnatic showed us doubters that they are still a top team.

happy that you win, most mature player at pro cs, with all these problems about delpan and dsn, you still managed to play more, and even win a tournament it's amazing. They were on a losing streak not only because of roster changes but also because of the fact that carn was travelling a lot to different countries thus team wasn't praccing and players (e.g. Delpan) felt that the Team is losing its motivation and decided to leave but when carn finally started normal practicing process everything came to its logical conclusion.

Carn was so great in this final. they had 2-0 on tuscan and lost 8 rounds in row then he took timeout and they turned the game around. Friis and Gux was the biggest reason why fnatic won the final. Gux at d2 and friis on tuscan with insane entry kills. Xizt and Pita wasnt bad at all they hitted their shots but didnt do anything crazy. Nixon made sure it wasnt any delays basicly. You did great job at this tournament Nixon and it was nice to see you irl :) I thought nostra was the worst "winner" ever. Every round lions won he was so cocky etc against fnatic but i was so wrong he really thought lions did great anyways and said grats to fnatic afterwards. P.S Why did you say "Manne" when you did your huddle?

Interviews with cArn are always great, i have great respect for him because he's always humble and a great player, i hope you the best. i am pretty happy for the swedish finalists... everyone thought that the winner of navi vs sk would play in the final against again... fnatic is not consistently beating navi(sort of) and lions are looking so strong and a top5 team... it was needed as the void left by mtw was hard to fill....

i think, what cArn and fnaticMSI accomplished this year was the hardest ever in history of cs. a totally new team, without fancy names, starting over after so much fame, keeping up with faith , motivation and hard working after some bad results and criticism, changing a lot in term of tactics and finally managed to win those titles. cArn #1

mouz and m5 definitely not. they have beaten navi 2 times (bo1 and bo3) they haven't played with this lineup against AGAiN or SK and i guess we won't see that for some time.

every single interview I watch from this guy grews my respect for him. cArn is the definitely the man. I love how he sums up the situations and how he talks very emotional and honest. pita knows what he talks about.
