The last major event of the year, WCG 2011, is only three days away and we couldn't let it pass without our Dreamteam game. This might be your last chance to claim some sweet prizes in this calendar year, so don't miss the opportunity!

World Cyber Games 2011 will take place from December 8-11 in Busan, South Korea in what will be the last major event of the year. The tournament will be filled with teams who will appear on the big stage for the first time, so we will probably see some upsets as they fight for a share of the $34,000 prize purse.

The schedule of the event is not entirely clear for now, but we will update you with our usual viewer's guide as soon as we get confirmation.

In case you missed the group draw and you are wondering who will meet who in the first stage of the tournament, you can check that out here.

Prizes for the top three finishers in our game will be handed out courtesy of SteelSeries and will this time include the following:

1. SteelSeries Sensei

2. SteelSeries Desmo

3. SteelSeries QcK+ SK edition

Think its ridicilous low balance "you" put in. You cant even buy 4medi players imo with this system.. And how the hell can IGG be more expensive than Moscov Five, Again, DTS..??? Jeez christ....; gotta say that stinks :/ Actually going through the numbers IGG looks to be the 2nd most expensive team in total... = WTF??? And this was just an example.. A team like BGDonline isnt far behind either compared to teams mentioned above.. sry the flame (even if u didnt have part of it but at least this goes near the top)

It's all based on stats. If IGG do well on a local tournament it's not HLTV's fault. And the balance is based on the average of all players in the tournament.

Heard this before. Had just hoped u had changed it by now. I mean using stats from a local tournament doesnt make sense too use in WCG and other major tournaments. Because of this the only group that makes sense to gamble on is group D.. You kinda screwed all other groups cause of this balance. If u buy 1 top gamer u have to gamble the rest on unknowned players. Now its really a luck/gamble game... But hands down,- now I know why u call it dream-team - at least this time. It will only remain "a dream" :o

What the hell, dude, this is the best part of the game. If you could just buy Forest, Get_right, Markeloff, Neo and Gux right at the beginning, where would the fun be? It's a skill to lose as little as possible on your newb bets. And obviously there's luck involved. It's a prediction game. I'm not saying it's perfect and I take your point about excluding small local tournaments, but for the most part the game works pretty damn well.

but more random/luck is involved which it shouldnt be. Even if u succeed with a low-team - the balance still wont get high enough to buy the best players,- which makes my point - "dream"team isnt possible for most ppl and waaay 2 much luck is needed to win

Actually there's less luck involved, because the payoff to doing research is higher. When everyone can afford well-known players the returns to new information are small. If you know something, chances are pretty good that everyone else does too. Moreover, it doesn't make that much difference if Get_Right is currently on super amazing rather than just ordinary amazing form. This time, though, those who're willing to dig a little deeper into player histories and their recent form will get rewarded for doing so. And the information will be valuable enough to make a difference. If you play dreamteam in a vacuum and don't care about your standing relative to other people, then your argument makes sense. But for those of us who see it as a competition, having plenty of unknown players means more opportunity for skill, and that's the very definition of "less random".

But all the "low" teams - u cant actually find out how good they are since none of their stats are vs good teams or famous teams at least. Thats why I think its random. Dont even think a lot of the attending "lower" teams have event met each other or any of pro-teams before. So you HAVE to guess ergo random/luck

Unfortunatly I can't, they don't have any offical website or something like that. Anyway, just to know, you may see some user comments from Iran here hltv.org/match/1941011-entity-nervana-wc.. Nirvana is name of a LAN Center in Tehran (Capital of Iran)...or maybe they liked to name themself Nervana to WCG instead of Nirvana for some reason, i donno :-??

Sometimes specific events donate specific prizes, like MSi VideoCards/Motherboards for MSi BEAT IT Events, or prizes from the ESEA proshop for ESEA. When the event doesn't donate specific prizes, we rely on our amazing sponsor Steelseries to make sure there is prizes for DreamTeam. If you added it all up, Steelseries donate 100x more prizes than anyone else, it's just they get spread out more to cover for events that don't donate.

I said they come out cheap. When a company "donates" something as a sponsor, they get something in return for the promotional value the current item has. In this case I think the prizes are partly "small" and partly "ugly". These are really subjective impressions, therefore it was only my guessing that the promotional value could be almost none or even negative. On this matter I really don't care whether it's true or not, I just wanted to share my wondering. I'm not saying I'm ungrateful of anything, and I'd like You not to put the words in my mouth... I play dreamteam for fun, I write a comment when I wan't an answer, a discussion or just to share my opinion. I don't hush when it concerns a wondering though about the "great" sponsor, as I'm not ungrateful to anything just because I have a critical view on their marketing strategy. Go make my status shitface-anti-VIP and see if I care. The only thing I'm grateful of is the voluntary work You guys do to bring me news from the game and the associated community.

I've a question.. Is like, in the dreamteam we have a several roles and one of them is "newbie" and my question is. Should we use this role? Because the objective of this role is to the player have a lot more deaths then kills to receive value but when he dies the value don't decrease also? Probably yes and the answer to my question is yes, I already chosed players do be the newbies and I never won anything with. Is it like a "trap" role? thank you and sorry for my poor English X)

Roles do not affect the value of the player but the bank money. As for using the roles or not, well, it is up to you to decide if you want to give it a shot or not. For example, if you know that a player will decrease his value you can try to see if he does in a 'newbie' mode and thus compensating the inevitable value loss with winning some extra cash in your bank.

but we are ranked due the player values right? But the player cost like 90000 and he dies a lot, the value player decreases like 500. He have less then the start so Im losing with the role newbie? Maybe I'am misunderstanding.. Or... is it like his player value decreases 300 but with the role newbie he won like 700 for dying? Im a little confused with this role :/

Yes, you are ranked by overall team value. And even though I am not quite sure if you still haven't understood that player value and roles are independent your second example points to the right direction. The 'newbie' role is meant, as least that is the way I understand it and would use it, for a player that you know will perform bad (thus losing value) but you want to compensate with winning money for your bank (thus assigning him the 'newbie' role). You should see the roles as a way to get money in order to compensate the amount of it you need when selling a player is not enough in order to "upgrade" your DT.

I've made through top 50 many times in Dreamteam, best placed 6th, and I never choose Newbie role. It's a "trap" like you've said. Never go for this one. =)

Nothing wrong in using newbie role. Just dont use it on a complete newb cause value will almost always decrease more than what u can earn. Actually I think "Whining" role is the most tricky. Look up the one u choose at his stats etc. and see previous tournaments stats to compare players and take the safest-odd-favour choice (Either way its ofc always a gamble u must take like everything else u have to pick of roles)
