The ClanBase NationsCup admin team has issued a 12-month ban to Denmark's Morten "coloN" Johansen, after coming to the conclusion that he used wallhack in the match against Norway.

Following Denmark's 16-14 victory against Norway in the opening match of the season, Norway filed a complaint stating that Morten "coloN" Johansen had cheated in the match.

It has been 14 days since the match was played and today the admin team issued a ban to Johansen, excluding him for 12 months in all ClanBase activities. The admin team has reviewed Johansen's POV demo and came to the conclusion that he had used wallhack in the match.

coloN receives a 12-month ban from ClanBase

With Johansen's ban follows a red card to Denmark, which results in a forfeit loss in the match against Norway.

ClanBase's statement also touches upon the accusations made against Austria's Rainer "maKz" Hofmann-Wellenhof, the admin team has after reviewing the case come to the conclusion that he did not cheat in the qualifying match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

the only thing i saw on there that was suspicious at all was maybe the scout hs on upper when they were stacked. it wasn't a really good video, tbh. if you want to prove they WH, show the clip with AND without WH. don't just show it with WH.

imo the most suspicious thing is 2:30 - 2:40, in each case you can say that he just predicted what enemy is planning to do but this one - moving your cursor to the right exactly when enemy behind train is doing the same, it's just impossible that he predicted something like this

But again, in that clip, there's no shot of it without WH being used. And from watching it more, I see that the T's body did show on his right on the train, so him moving the cursor there is no sign of WH imo. Now before that shot, at 2:15-2:20, I can see how people can see that being WH, but he did not move his crosshair at first, he moved his body, and fell off the train, and readjusted the crosshair accordingly before getting back on the train. This is all circumstantial evidence at best. Innocent until PROVEN guilty is how I make my decisions, and imo, he hasn't been proven guilty.

ok, in this video it is not so clear (imo it IS, but your opinion is different), but the result is that the admins had a demo and they know the true. You can be takling about that all night but his ban will never disappear.

The fact that it took the admins 14 days of watching one demo to determine if someone was cheating is enough doubt imo to overturn this. It's not like CB is that big anymore (or ever was), so it's not really a "huge ban" that's going to affect him that much.

watching demo isn't 100% reliability because you're not on vocal with his mates, you dont have his habits of thinking/playing, ... i watched his video and i can give you some examples - when he scopes the popdog train, it wasn't a premove i clearly see a leg on the right - he stoped and didn't rush yard : duh, sure why not, he can change his mind/tactics you know - upper ramp inner yard : he checks the one man height first and then he noticed something one the higher spot, if you look closely you'll see a little black line it's the front part of the awp - the last action : he waits because he was waiting for his mates to go inner, he moves only after a kill was done im sure i can explain more scenes but im lazy so i hope you'll see my point and stop acting like sheeps, use your brain and be more objective

I don't think you can turn it this way. If the question is if he has cheated or not, the matter is how do you choose your opinion. Are you going to choose because the biggest part of players think he has cheated or are you going to choose regarding others criterias (for example watching yourself the demo with or without wh)? The same goes in court, members of the jury are supposed to judge the suspect according the evidences that are shown to them and not according to what the others think. But, of course, in reality it often happens the other way around.

Let me clarify this. I'm not saying that players should never be banned when there is no actual proof (like screenshots, Anti-Cheat,...) I am just questionning the ethical aspect of this matter. In this case, it is rather obvious that coloN is a blatant cheater so I think that he deserved this particular ban. However, nobody can be entirely sure that coloN used cheats. Just imagine that it would happen to you if you didn't cheat. I mean, it is not impossible.

Of course every anti cheat can be bypassed. Point is that ESL wire is pretty much the only anti cheat (Together with ESEA) that has effectively banned public cheats from their games. When a new public cheat shows up, they don't even have update their client in order to detect it. They can just stream a new module to detect it. Also, at least ESL Wire pokes at ring0 in order to detect the previously undetectable cheats. In comparison to EAC and other anti cheats ESL Wire is a different caliber of anti cheat.

Caught on client is proof for me, as well as too many situations that can't be explained. I am entitled to my opinion, just as much as you, difference is that you portray your opinion as absolute. As I have stated earlier, I don't believe there is enough evidence to say that he cheated and I therefore find the CB decision to be wrong. I've played since 1999, have worked as an admin, have watched demos of tens if not hundreds of supposed cheaters. And I think this clown was obviously cheating. Sure, he didn't get busted by the AC. But since when has bypassing an anticheat become some sort of an accomplishment? In real life, if you're standing next to a murder victim, with their blood all over you and the murder weapon in your hand, you're going to prison for murder. It's not 100% proof that you did it, but the evidence is against you. Same thing here. Looking at the video objectively (something you Danes seem to lack, judging from this thread) it's clear that he's cheating. Evidence is clearly against the poor bastard. Everyone but scrubs and danes think so.

Thanks for you comment. Honestly I have no relation to colon nor looking at it differently because he is Danish. Sure there might be alot of his friends/fanboys in here, but I think I am fairly good at looking things objectively. I totally agree that his ways of playing seems odd, but definitely not enough to count as a valid evidence. I have seen way too many of these cases (not this highly exposed though) where players turn into some of the best players in the world. I was for one called stupid by many when I thought karrigan wasn't cheating back in the days. Clearly my previous statement wasn't pointet towards guys like you. All respect for your opinion about this case - I simply do not agree, and I do think that there are tons of ignorants agreeing with the ban, same ignorants whining about everything, all the time. Basically what I'm trying to say is even though he may have been used wallhack, you can't make decisions by watching the demo only. Ofcourse, it might tell you something, but looking at the, for example, GTR's demos, trace's or f0rest's demos when there in a mood for playing, you can easily say they had some kind of cheats, which is ofcourse wrong. Colon maybe had a good day, anti-cheat saw nothing, no actual proof as i stated in a previous post. So I think what CB admins did was a wrong thing to do. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say now.

i knew what you were trying to say the whole time. my reading comprehension is pretty good, but it still makes no fuckin sense. and yeah your right if you watched any of the top players without sound and all that then you probably would think that they were hacking but you still wouldnt have seen half the stupid shit that colon did. and if people didnt use demos as a basis for banning the community would be flooded with hackers. I think that you analogy is flawed . Right analogy would be this : Whole bunch of hltv people and norway CS team suspect someone stole a store . They actually cought him on cam where it is shown how He stoles some things from the store . The videotape is then presented to the forensic team which after some investigation conclude that He stole and punish the guy . I've been playing this fucking game for like 11 years now, and I wouldn't dare to say it's WH after watching 1 demo. There are no ultra obvious situations, everyone who watched ANY demo with WH should know that there are situations that resemble cheating but they're not cheated. Plus colon knew that he will be closely watched, so he may have intentionally played like this just to provoke discussion, he made a lot of (missed) random shots in wall and after all we can't hear the TS from POV. Anyway it's pointless to argue with users here, as 90% of them installed steam 2-3 years ago and cry on public servers after getting wallbanged. I say demo from 1 match is not enough. I just hope the admins made a good decision.

I admire ClanBase's decision, I really do. Yet I don't understand it. The demo doesn't show any hack, and everyone with just a little knowledge, or whom followed coloN knows he got a shitty ass strange playstyle. I remember the first time i played with him aswell at a gather, where he were 1on1 with zarnix. He just came out on vent "How is it lukas normally plays hmmm", turns 180 degrees and around the cornor zarnix comes. I don't the .avi or even the demo as a proof, and real evidence. I hope for the gods sake, that coloN didn't cheat. Yet I'm unsure if he did or not. Anyhow. If coloN didn't cheat, and he will play just the same @ DEL on DSRack eSports Café, I'm gonna laugh at all haters that is pointing fingers too soon. I doubt ClanBase got more than 2 admins that reviewed that demo, without seeing the .avi first. While basing a cheating ban on a demo review is never 100% accurate (opposed to client detection) it seems like most of the community thought he cheated. If you watch moddii's POV vs colon's team yesterday, both moddii and xizt got hit perfectly by his awp while crossing above ladder. They both turned to each other and typed "??? what." I`ve watched the video and my first thought was clearly cheated. but now I´ve watched te demo and my conclusion is definitely no cheat. Here are the reasons: Everyone refers to those two actions, first one where he aims to the popdog train and second were he runs to the upper ramp and shots the tower. If you watch his POV Demo you can see parts of a T model in both actions: s7.directupload.net/file/d/2800/r4m9z4pd.. s1.directupload.net/file/d/2800/f3w775lq.. and thats why he is preaiming comprehensibly. Furthermore there are no actions in the demo that can suspect him of cheating or mystical playstyle. I was only wondering about his money management, since he buys AWP when the rest of the team ecoes and he buys Scout instead of FAMAS/M4. So please watch the demo and see that he isn`t cheating. just my 2 sence

Your general logic seems to be something like this: "If you don't agree that he was cheating in the Norway match you must have a bad understanding (or at least worse than me) of how this game works and I will therefore call you a retard". ArcadioN is one of the smartest players in Denmark and he has a history (as does his brother wazorN) of calling out cheaters and being against it in every way. They are playing with coloN in a team (wazorN might be a standin) and they know more about CS than you ever will, so who do you think I should believe?

and exactly that isn`t correct. he aims to the enemy after he spotted the T model and not before. s7.directupload.net/file/d/2800/r4m9z4pd.. look to the screen. he aims like everyone would do in the same situation and then hints the model up uppon to the right and then he predicts a tower and hs the opponent. s1.directupload.net/file/d/2800/f3w775lq.. same situation he aims to the top of the ladder like everyone else would do in his situation and after he spottet the model (screenshot) he aims to the right maybe for a second and because the T doesnt jump behind the e-box he aims back to the top of the popdogtrain ladder

Well that would be true if the evidence was the video where that guy is walking away from a crime scene all bloody and with knife in his hands. And also if the victim was stabbed with the knife. And if the accused had only argument which would be "the camera didn't actually recorded me doing the killing". Then we could say these two situations are similar, since in both cases the jury (admins from cbnc) have very easy obvious decision to make.

"we experienced players" (sidenote: i've played since -99) i was just saying that isn't it obvious that if even a semi-pro player cheats he should've played better than 22-21 in the Norway game.. afterwards he plays against a real pro team fnatic and gets 32-20 (1.60K/D) makes me think that he would've cheated on that game. Check that POV out, nothing wrong with it. so WHY would he cheat on Norway game and play bad IF he is capable doing 32-20 against fnatic when losing the match 20-10 ?
