CSP Deathmatch weekend testing
The CSPromod team are inviting the public to test their upcoming Deathmatch mode feature this weekend.
Although everyone's attention is mainly focused on the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive these days, the people behind CSPromod have been hard at work and now come bearing news.
For those of you who are new to the whole idea of CSPromod and what it actually is, the developers' frequently asked questions website explains it like this:
"CSPromod is a 100% custom-coded Source engine modification. Its goal is to bring the gameplay, feel, and competitive spirit of the original Counter-Strike to the Source engine, along with improved graphics and new features."
The game's current release version is 1.08, with 1.09 having been in the works for quite some time now. This weekend, the public will get to test CSPromod's planned Deathmatch feature.
A problem CSPromod has had to deal with in the past is the rather low level of activity. For the weekend, the team will only host two official servers, but there will be additional servers available.

In fact, CSPromod developer Saul "Saul" Rennison has informed HLTV.org that there will be a lot more servers than first anticipated, expecting the number to be in the 30's or more.
A Swedish game hosting company even offered to make 20 to 40 servers located in Sweden available for the public test weekend.
It should be noted that this is only the alpha phase of the Deathmatch mode, which means it is far from ready for release. The CSPromod team is thus depending on feedback over the weekend.
Although the 1.09 release is still down the road, some of the changes meant for the upcoming version will be put into effect this weekend, like the implementation of predicted deaths.
The development team will release the necessary files you need in order to play sometime during tomorrow. If you wish to participate in the weekend testing, here is the installation guide.
If you are interested in knowing more about the team's work and the game, the frequently asked questions section covers a lot.
