The finals for ESL Pro Series Germany Spring 2012 took place Saturday in Cologne, where mousesports won their fourteenth title with a 2-0 win against myRevenge.de.

Just like previous season, only the season final would be played on LAN, this season seeing mousesports go up against myRevenge.de.

With the win against Alternate in the semi-final, there were no doubts about mousesports being the favorites to win this season. While showing solid play online, finishing second in the group stage behind Alternate, myRevenge.de were unable to touch mousesports on LAN.

Despite playing with the veteran Christian "Blizzard" Chmiel, mousesports had no problem in winning. First map de_inferno was won 16-8 and second map de_tuscan 16-9.

It was easy to spot there wasn't the same excitement from winning as compared to previous finals, when mousesports won the last round to defeat myRevenge.de 2-0 for the Spring season victory.

ESL Pro Series Germany Spring 2012 final standings

1. mousesports – 5,800€
2. myRevenge.de – 3,300€
3. Alternate – 2,100€
4. DkH – 1,450€

The end of this EPS season also marks the shutdown of mousesports' Counter-Strike 1.6 division. As announce last month, the German organization will discontinue with the game to focus on other games in the future.

14 EPS titles that's quite something. Mousesports is one of the most succesful e-sports organizations, that's for sure.

To be fair, the competition in the German EPS hasn't been the best for mousesports. Alternate has managed to put up a fight most of the time, but other than that there have been few worthy teams. Still, mousesports has been a succesful organisation, no argument there!

Using Blizzard over, say karrigan, would lower their odds of winning, thus the use of 'despite'.

Very small mistake "myrevenge.de were unable to touch mousesprots on LAN" so minor I don't even know how I noticed it lol. Gj mousesports. End of a great era. What will become of the ex players?
