GameGune Summary
It’s been a
few busy days. Not much sleep, but lots of Counter-Strike.
This year’s GameGune
is over. When we look back, a few teams surprised, some didn’t live up to their
seed, and some were just lucky. The event that started with such an impressive
teamlist, went downhill just before the event were suppose to start. Teams like
NiP, x6tence, Virtus.pro and GoodGame backed out. Leaving only 32 teams left.
The teams that did show up made the audience go wild. Who would have thought
the ESWC champions would be out even before the final bracket. Nobody if you
ask me. The final has been played, and fnatic walked away with the 12.000€ after winning on two maps against mibr. A few of the players will attend the allstar match, fnx, cogu, dsn and f0rest.

A team that really showed their A-Game was Ideal Gaming from Denmark. They were
seeded 22., but they managed to gain a 7-8. Place, which I must say is quite
impressive. They lost a very close match to ZYKON, but before their exit, they
were able to beat following teams; Dignitas, LegionnaiRe, and BTR. This is it for this year’s edition of
GameGune. I truly hope they will be back with their invite tournament next
year, because I really enjoyed it. Drop by our coverage section if you missed
anything. Demos will be uploaded during next week, when we are back to our
homes.
