ESC getting ready for CS:GO

The ESC Gaming players have announced that they are practicing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The move comes as the Polish giants want to see how the game is and to prepare themselves in the event of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive becoming a hit at major events.

"To everyone out there interested in the future of our team - we do not quit CS 1.6, we have started practicing CS:GO right now to see how it is, and to be ready - if most of the events will switch to the new game" is written on the Golden Five Facebook page."

As mentioned, the team will not stop playing Counter-Strike 1.6, but with focus being shifted towards Counter-Strike: Global Offensive these days, it is natural move from the Polish squad.

"If there will be any 1.6 event out there in the world we will be very happy to participate in that. Unfortunately the situation is as it is and we are also very unhappy about us being forced to leave aside the game that we all love and that has been part of us since over a decade."

In an ending note, the players ask the community to be gentle in its judgement about their move.

It's been the greatest time for us but we have to move on and stay open minded for anything that the future might bring to us. Be gentle in your judgement!
Peace! :)

"It's been the greatest time for us but we have to move on and stay open minded for anything that the future might bring to us. Be gentle in your judgement! Peace! :)"

Only advantage CSS guys have is the "limited" movement that 1.6ers will have to get used to. Numerous other major things are very different both from source or 1.6, so it will be interesting to see how Source and 1.6 players will compete against each other. The graphics is something you can get used to very quickly, so I don't see Source guys having that much advantage due to the engine.

been playing cs:go for the past few days all i got to say. -too faded, makes the maps more colorful and able to see enemies more clearer -hud center id should be blue if u see a ct, and red if u see a terrorist. -allow us an option to switch to 1.6 buying options. non of this awful console buy selection. -make enemy team able to tell apart a little better. -wtf no silence on m4? really valve?

- Competitive maps will be created at some point and adopted for competitive play. - Never heard anyone complain about that and it hardly impacts play - You should use buy binds - I agree some of the models are a little hard to tell apart sometimes - Valve already have said they will be putting the silencers back in at some point EDIT: The main thing you should understand is Valve have said they will be updating the game on a regular basis AFTER the game has been released, it can only get better.

The pathetic is, when CS:GO has released first, many of the teams said, it's bad, it's a shit and so on. (ESC as well) And what's happening now? All of this teams switch to this game. Okay, times changes, and the first move was from the organizers but even if you are a pro player, I think it's a complete mess to be a pro in a game what you called a shit. So somewhere, somebody is lying. That's the pathetic.

you missed the point. before this update cs:go was piece of crap (and it's still piece of crap) but noone said "we are not gonna play cs:go". and esc guys said they will be participating 1.6 events (althouth not many left) so what's your problem? you should be happy that such a team like esc will be playing cs:go and still supporting 1.6 at the same time...

You have to know as good as me that this is a bullshit to keep up to division on for 1.6 one for CS:GO. 1: you cannot maintain your shape in to different games on pro level 2: now it's clear that 1.6 will be shut down on main tournaments. So there is no any reason to keep 1.6 division.

Rattlesnk summed it up best in his HLTV interview saying that the reason most teams openly said no to CSGO was because it was such early stages of beta it wasn't worth playing it until most of the bugs were ironed out and they could legitimately practice on a close to finished product. Now thats happening and everyone is going ape shit.

I clearly remember, that one of an ESC player (Taz or Pasha) said, that this game is bad and Valve should make a graphics boosted CS1.6 instead of this. 2-3 month ago most of the comments for CS:GO on this site have negative criticism. Most of comments complain about movements like on Source, recoil is awful, models, textures wrong. Do you say that all of this major reasons of the complains are fixed? I don't really see the difference between Source and GO, so sorry but I don't believe this shit, that top teams just waiting for another release of this game and suddenly everybody switched on it. Why didn't they play with Source? Because it's really disappointed compared to CS 1.6 and this GO is the same as well. The only reason is to switching to GO, that the organizers start to shut down CS1.6 events. I don't have any problem with it, everybody has own decision but please don't try to explain that a game what has zero sympathy two months later will be a good one. Just said: it's about that fuckin' organizers no deal with CS1.6 anymore and I will say, ...okay.

I can't comment baseed on how similar it is to 1.6 as I haven't played the game. I come from Call of Duty where a new game was released every few years (I gave up by the time COD4 came out). But CSGO is very different to CSS. I find the movement much more fluid, although no bunnyhoping it is far easier to 'dodge' bullets as the reg is better and you are able to peak corners more aggresively. The recoil as you stated being "aweful" is a matter of opinion. The recoil has patterns which are different to both games thus you have to relearn it, that doesn't make it bad. I dont understand this model debate, the hitboxes are accurate, and in most cases they have changed the size of boxes (compared to CSS) not allowing people to peak just above them. The only thing that annoys me with CSGO is the lack of diversity in some maps, they seemed to have made certain maps more one sided and I definitely agree they need to make certain skins more visible, but there is no reason why this game cannot be competitive.

I see the most of the people saying that don't like CS:GO, and killing the game in those post that we make, but the money behind it's more powerfull that the "love 4 the game", this is a ELECTRONIC-sport. and in this world of tecnology, the obsolete need to be replaced to keep making money. only the players have the decision if the game keep stay (1.6) or if it's the money more important, that it's obviously, the money first(CSGO). we are not killing the game, THE INDUSTRIES THAT SUPPLY US ARE

money at the beginning is something natural. but after a few events, when they realize that the fanbase isn't big enough they'll prolly drop cs:go right away and start supporting something else...
