Wikipediots win ICS over Anexis

Wikipediots have overcome Anexis in an all-Danish final of Inuria Championship Summer with a 2-0 score (16-14 on de_tuscan and 16-7 on de_dust2) to win 1,000 euros.

After almost two months of group stage and playoff matches, Inuria Championship Summer finally reached its championship duel. In a repeat from BECSL II final (which was organized by the same people that are behind ICS) Anexis and reigning champions Wikipediots met again to decide who will end up being this edition's winner.

Wikipediots, who are still without an organization and without a permanent fifth member, called up Emil "zaider" Brandt to help out once again for this match, just as they did throughout the entire playoffs. On the other hand, Anexis also faced roster issues this season, but have been strengthened with the return of Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer in the semi-final, and now in the final, after he missed all of their previous matches.

Having Snappi back boosted Anexis' chances in the final

Match report

The final kicked off on de_tuscan, a map that both teams are more than fond of, and the clash turned out to be as interesting as expected. Wiki opened up the scoring with their CT pistol round, and before long they were up 6-1.

Anexis reduced the deficit by two, but in the 10th round Christian "turkizh" Bindslev converted a 1-on-3 situation to his team's favor, which was followed up by Morten "coloN" Johansen's 1-on-1 and Wiki were up 9-3 shortly after. However, Anexis managed to keep things interesting going into the side-change being down only 9-6, with Wiki's Johansen leading the scoreboard with 19 first half kills.

The second pistol round also went to Wiki, largely thanks to Johansen's 4 USP kills, which enabled them to go up 12-6 after the anti-eco rounds. In the first buy round, Anexis' Pfeiffer made an excellent M4A1 ace which gave his team the needed push to get back into the game.

Danny "BERRY" Krüger's squad drew closer and closer, but with the score standing at 13-12 in favor of Wiki, youngster Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth won a 1vs1 situation in this crucial round to put his team up 14-12.

Still, Anexis' run wasn't halted as they evened out the score at 14-14, but Højsleth was once again the last man standing for Wikipediots in an important round and he successfully kept the c4 from being defused against two opponents, making it 15-14 for his team.

As it all came down to the last round of the second half, Wiki quickly took the upper hand, and although Anexis' Pfeiffer was set on winning the 1vs3 situation he found himself in, 16-year-old Højsleth was again left as the last man standing after a big ruckus, and he showed that ice runs in his veins as his last kill brought Wiki their third consecutive round, and thus the map win with 16-14.

Xyp9x played a crucial role at the end of de_tuscan

Second map of the match was de_dust2, where Anexis started on the favored terrorist side. Despite that, Wikipediots continued winning the pistol rounds, making it three out of three, and after that they dealt with a 2nd round partial buy and were quickly up 4-0.

Anexis finally got on the scoreboard then, but in the 6th round Timm "ArcadioN" Henriksen secured himself a fresh appearance on our YouTube channel with an AK47 ace that put his team ahead 5-1.

As the match moved on, Anexis were unable to break their opponents defense, so coming into the last round of the half, Wikipediots were in a big lead of 12-2. Things could have been even worse hadn't Jonas "zanoj" Velling took advantage of some complacent play from Wiki in his 1-on-3 situation, bringing the score to 12-3.

Considering the map and the side, Anexis' deficit was almost impossible to overcome, but they didn't give up and they finally won a pistol round. They even brought the score to 12-7 following the first buy, during which Højsleth finally failed to win a clutch round, seeing the c4 defused in front of him by a millisecond.

Wikipediots didn't panic though and they managed to prevent the second map from becoming as interesting as the first, closing out the match with four straight rounds for a 16-7 final result.

Lige pt. ser det dog ikke sådan ud. coloNzo translated, he won't play CS:GO. maybe in the future but it doens't look like it

nice, amazing teams, amazing match...1.6 matches are so much more entertaining to watch than CS:GO these two matches, even the Chinese matches are so much more skilled and entertaining to spectate, CS:GO is garbage in that aspect, not to mention a bunch of others things that are shit as well
