EPS open qualifiers announced
The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced that it will hold three open qualifiers for the first season of the German CS:Global Offensive EPS.
Until the end of the month, the ESL will put together three tournaments to hand out six places in the CS:GO EPS league, which will replace the 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source tournaments.
The only requirements for teams to sign up for these open qualifiers is that they have at least three players residing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Liechtenstein and that all of their members have a Premium account and are at least Level 3 Trusted.

Each tournament will reward the top two placed teams with a spot in the EPS season. mTw and dotpiXels have already qualified for the tournament after winning the last EPS edition in CSS and 1.6, respectively.
The last four spots in the EPS season will be determined through two invite cups which will feature teams from the last EPS and EAS tournament in both 1.6 and CSS.
Meanwhile, the ESL has determined that the map pool for the open tournaments will consist of de_dust2_se, de_inferno_se, de_train_se, de_nuke_ve and de_mirage_csgo, with the following restrictions being enforced:
- It is possible to purchase only four grenades
- You can only purchase two flash grenades
- All weapons and grenades are allowed
