PGS CS group draw

The group draw for the ProGamerSeries (PGS) Counter-Strike competition has been made, with the eight participants learning their fate.

With CS:GO taking over in most major international competitions, PGS will be one of the last chances for the community to see the big teams in action in CS 1.6.

But despite the tournament boasting a €15,000 prize purse, only eight teams confirmed their attendance, which made the event organisation alter the competition's structure.

PGS will kick off with a group stage, in which every match will be played in a best-of-three format, "in order to maintain a high competitive level in the competition, followed by the playoffs with the remaining four teams.

fnatic, who were recently seen competing in the K1 League in China, have been handed a relatively easy task as place2play.ru are on paper their only threat.

On the other hand, Na´Vi, who finished second at TECHLABS last week, will have to work hard to progress after being pitted against Virtus.pro and Anexis.

P2P.ru are actually pretty good and with NEO they surely have a high percentage of placing in top3.. Brazilian CS has not surprised us during last years at all and I do not put much hope into those teams..

Indeed, the Brazilian teams lately not been showing much experience in international events ... But this is fact, GH has good players who won the mandic.Razer: FalleN, fnx, bit1, nak and ell. (in 2011) teamplay.com.br/view.php?not_id=8437

I'm not saying Brazilian CS has no good players, what I meant was the fact that Brazilian teams get huge sponsorship with which they attend European events where they, unfortunately, do very poor. Let's hope Gamerhouse will show a great performance, then ;)

I see ... In a matter of big sponsorship Brazilian teams are getting close to big brands like gamers, paiN.Razer, GamerHouse.SteelSeries, ProGaming.TD.Razer, SBG.AMD much more... let's wait.

People do not think that Neo is playing alone, not at all. Neo is the best player in the world in my opinion, but regardless of what, they are the old M5, and they were good, even though they're playing with Overdrive (lol). And fact is, brazilian teams haven't done shit for like years. I doubt the brazilians will even go top 4.

Not exactly true. There's a lot more professional teams in GO than in Source and 1.6 combined, problem is that the game has almost 0 casual players.

That game wont survive cuz its a profesional players who need to grow out of the casual comunity and not the other way around. "go" can have as much pro players and teams as they want... but there is no1 standing behind it i mean not much ppl....

CS 1.6 and Source suffered from a loss of teams... now, when these 2 scenes combine, they have enough teams for quite a while to survive, plus there are a lot of semi-pro or just competitive teams which can eventually evolve into pro teams/players

Aww... I was hoping fnatic and Na'Vi would be in the same bracket. Oh well; at least this way, they have a chance at meeting in the finals. I'm not 100% sure who to root for, as I love both teams!
